@drbuk96 All music is electronic but 'electro' is a genre distinction. Electro prominently features the use of drum machines and the vocals are usually rather contorted via vocoding. A good example would be Kraftwerk.

@0mega75 they didn't really change their music style completely, only in intimacy are the songs more electro.because in their four album deal, they made it so that each member of the band gets to put their own influences into the album. intimacy features more of Matt's influences(from an interview). so they are still a guitar based band and not an electronic based band. but i agree, i hope in their next album they will have more songs similar to the older songs like tulips, two more years, etc.

I enjoy the progression of their albums. Listening to B sides like Skeleton or The Marshalls are Dead through to Compliments and tulips to this shows their talent and diversity. I think they are a great band and personally, i would like their next album to go back to their roots...

people talk a lot about how bands change their styles, like its a bad thing. I've got a lot of respect for bands who just want to be creative and try new things. Isn't that what art is?

@tonydibs007 - but there's such thing as a style change for the worse, of course some people will prefer the change, but those that fell in love with the original style are likely to not like the change and will then comment on how they don't like the change in sound. Can't really tell people to like the new stuff if they just don't.

@evanescencerawks true. Theres also style change for financial reasons. I have a lot of respect for Kele Okereke who went solo for a bit to experiment as an artist. I do like the electro house, just as much as indie rock

@0mega75 to me, their change is more like progress; application and displaying of new skills. that's how I see it. I like it. that's a musician. I saw them once and everything you hear, they bring with them on stage and actually play it; like the repeating voice in "Mercury", idk what the instrument is but Kele sung into the mic with it on record and used a pedal to replay it. that's cool! they're still very well capable of their older style in their Side B songs.
