btw, I dig the square tube adapter but you should really connect them to the top of the bell housing as well. just hanging on an arm like that must be vibration vulnerable
it is possible to convert to electric motor on a ShuttleVan that kind that is use at airpot terminals? something like this? h t t p://w w w . youtube . com /watch?v=vRsY-pI8h5w&feature=related
@paytontech. This one is a very DIY, small budget conversion. $900 truck and everything. Nope, the motor never twisted the motor mount, I used that truck until I upgraded to the next level without any trouble.
You could make a rack that can connect into the ports on the side of the bed and goes across the top of the bed, cab for solar panels and extend it's range :)
The next video will be a 93 Mazda extended cab pickup. It has a Warp9 motor, 144V Curtis Controller, power brakes, and DC/DC controller. It should be finished up soon, so stay tuned.
Great video, really love your Keep It Simple aproach.
After having a lot to do with this, AC is definetly the way to go, lower current draw, batteries last longer.
Just a word of warning, always seal your speed controller with some metal mesh or similar if it has hoses big enough for a Mouse !, they love to get inside, then when you power up, all hell breaks loose, lots of smoke and no warranty
Well right now I'm still trying to learn as much as I can. But I want to convert a camaro or a firebird. I figure with the ICE out of the way there would be more than enough space under the hood, for the motor, and the batteries. But I'm not to enthusiastic about lead-acid.
It actually works pretty good. It has a top speed of 30 or 35 because I used a forklift pump motor instead of the forklift drive motor. I will be posting more soon...
No video for the test drive, it was dark. So far I still have some kinks to work out, but it made it 5 times around the block without any problems. I am still adjusting, but it already has a top speed of 25 mph. That's a good start. I am aiming for 40 to 45 mph. Either way it drives for free.
where can i get a forklift motor ive been looking for 5 yrs now and still cant find anything can you help please

Thanks for sharing.

so what if you skipped the tranny all together and installed direct to driveshaft?

Nice to-the-point conversion. Am I mistaken in guessing that your motor twisted that motor mount when you first test drove it?

This is so awesome!

Can you do this with a Jeep Commanche?

Was that transmission running dry? It sounded really noisy.

This would be even cooler if it had a CVT transmission! I'm gonna have one of these very very soon! Nice vid!

hey man can you tell me the list of all the components you used and where i can get them. I need to build me an electric car. Please respond

Hey good job. I wanna do one myself. Couple of questions though:
1. I didn't see the controller. What kind is it? How big? And where do you have it mounted?
2. What kind of motor is the forklift motor (AC or DC)?
3. Can you give the overall cost of the project?

I have learned a lot since the mazda truck. What kind of vehicle are you converting?

Driving it everyday and with proper shifting you it will go 40 mph. I am already onto a Honda Accord..... bolting in the forklift motor as we speak.
