I've seen [mint condition] copies of MGS3 Subsistence sell for as much as £70 to £100 on eBay. I have a copy that it is literally like new....but I wouldn't part with it for even £100....THAT is how good it is. Snake Eater was a 3 star game let down by an outdated camera system (a system that worked in MGS 1&2 thanks to the radar...but not here). Subsistence is a 5 star game worthy of the title 'Metal Gear'. They're simply two different games. The Gamespot video review compares the views.

The main difference was the new fully controllable 3rd person camera view instead of the outdated and rather silly Snake Eater camera where you kept having to stop and switch to first person view or else keep running into enemies. The new camera was full 3D view. Made it a better game by far.

It also came with an online mode disc. And a 3rd disc with the two 1980's games from Japan, MG1&2. And a cutscene 'movie' of Snake Eater. It costs a fortune now but is WELL worth it.

actually the servers on mgs:subsistence were shut down so unfortunately you can't play online anymore.

Snake Eater's camera is like in previous MGS - it's top-down. In Subsistence you can select also 3rd person, but not in Snake Eater.
