  • Pretty cool interview ! This is the best..Thanks for lowland this..It is great to know from great film directors the way they think and do things..Jim Jarmurch is one of my favorites ..

  • Vampire Movie Jim...really?! I lost all respect for you. You were literally the last person in the world I would have expected to go that route.

  • @bakanbi what are you talking about?

  • @PeyoteCowboy

    look it up

    Google: Jim Jarmusch Vampire Movie

  • @bakanbi Come on, it's Jarmusch! It's going to be interesting. :)

  • @bakanbi ??? r u serious. Go away you don't know

  • @bakanbi Personally, I think it will turn out well. Jarmusch always turns out something interesting, and the fact that Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender will involved definitely adds extra interest. I'm excited, truthfully.

  • aw man, imagine dave and krist jammin with Neil, that wouldve been the Best!

  • Fuck hollywood!!

  • See the trailer for ‘Bombing the Holy Land’, a new skateboard mocumentary series coming soon

  • Avoid the guys in suits that want their money back! :D

  • do you know what year this is?

  • @elysofly i would guess between 99 and 2002

  • Brilliant and humble guy. Good to see.

  • Can someone PLEASE tell me where this interview is from and how can i see the whole thing. And also does anybody know where i can find other video interviews of Jarmusch excluding the criterion ones and night on earth feat. and charlie rose! dig deep people and bring this man's wonderful insight to the tube.

  • thanks 4 posting!!!

  • Hes hot

  • fuck yes jim! i love ur work

  • Dead Man soundtrack is amazing.

  • Why doesn't Jim Jarmusch do interviews more often? :(

  • he is busy doing shrooms most of the time :(

  • @PeyoteCowboy you must mean ":)"

    shrooms is gud

  • genious and biggest american artist.

  • I am not Jim Jarmusch but I try to make good films too: Type "vagabund trailer" to watch a short piece of it. Greetings!

  • ODB on shrooms! HAHA

  • love jim, he's doing great job

  • great filmmaker, mistery train...my fave..

  • geniallllllllll

  • wow. I wish he would have played it with Nirvana

  • wow. i wish you would die

  • I'd like to see you say that to my face bub. You are a piece of shit and a pussy.

  • I think that Neil playing the soundtrack by himself was brilliant and the way it definitely should have been. But the idea of him playing with the surviving members of Nirvana in any capacity would have been awesome. Way better than Pearl Jam. I don't take kindly to anyone saying they wish I would die, so go screw yourself.

Sorry PeyoteCowboy for swearing on your video, but this guy is a dick.

  • you don't get it.

  • There is a good episode of The Simpsons where he does a guest voice. According to the episode, he was about to film Cheaper By The Dozen 2, where the whole family is dead except Steve Martin.

  • Hey Jim Jarmusch fans! Check out exclusive clips from Jims new film, The Limits of Control, on the official Facebook page

  • Man, I gotta listen to more Neil Young.

  • wow Jim is so cool :P and a great artist.

this was a very interesting video, thank you

  • One of our few American original filmmakers.

  • you know that jarmusch its in a spongebob episode.

  • he was in a simpsons episode, not spongebob

  • really? in which episode?, 'cause its also in a spongebob episode, first season "hooks", he is a fisherman. sorry for my poor english.

  • lol, never heard of him being in spongebob!

Jarmusch has been in a Simpsons episode called 'Any Given Sundance', from the 19th season (he plays himself).

you can watch the whole ep here: wtso net/movie/422-1918 Any Given Sundance.html

  • actually he was in spongebob, he appears as a fisher who tries to fish bikini bottom

  • Great! Thanks for this! 5*

  • no que buena onda , me encanta lo que hace

  • i thought he's older

  • Thank you so much....great wonderful Jim Jarmusch

  • Very nice. Thanks.

  • the most import...

  • Commercial film, music, digital photography, all crap. Its pollution...

  • I totally agree with him concerning music in the movies today. i can't stand the sappy songs in every single film. Well, I rarely see Hollywood movies anyway...

Keep up the good work, Jarmusch!

  • I wanted to say: "that's guy is nuts", but he really didn't said anything that could aim at me, except the credit cards and owing money. I just heard those stories playing in "deep background" and I don't really think that somebody threads them seriously. I don't really know how to defend because I don't know what's the case.

  • what are you trying to defend?

  • Ha,ha,ha, he is so right!

  • This guy is so fuckin' cool

  • ROFL, i love when he goes 'OH i got a long story when rza came with the dirt dawg... odb.. i think they were on shrooms' RIP ODB!

  • crazy motherfucker :D

    genius.

  • jarmusch rules

  • i really dig jim jarmusch...but, he sounds a bit pretentious here about the music in the biz. yes, its true, hollywood has shitty soundtracks. but usually when thats the case, the movies are horrible anyway. and in some cases, it just works.

    whatever...

  • This man is an inspiration.

  • i love ya man!

  • jim is so awesome -he wrote the most moving and amazing preface to the cd booklet for the pogues red roses for me and its so brilliant, hes a legend, such an inspiration,

  • I fuckin love ghost dog.

  • you could rob someone. haha

  • "The dirt-dog ODB on mushrooms" - "max out a bunch of credit cards and change your identity" - classic!

Love the beanie too - a rasta twist Jarmusch style......

  • I like his hat

  • if you guys like jj please check out some of my flicks i made i'm 15 in highschool experimenting with styles if you like jj you'll love ELVIS and ARTISTIC PEOPLE. UNTITLED is also some of my best work. Cheers

  • Great upload! Very inspiring!

  • He's just talking and it's poetic. genius. If only I were a SON OF LEE MARVIN.

  • Jim Jarmusch is my hero.

  • he is fuckin right about the music

  • i love him

  • Thanks :)

Good to here something encouraging for a change

  • Gracias por las pelis!

  • wow thanks for the film, would like to see the whole version.

  • Aaaaaaa! I wan´t the whole interview. He´s have good sense of humor. Thank you so much for uploading this!

  • A true genius! Down by law, stranger than paradise, dead man, a night on earth, ghost dog, those are great movies!

  • I totally agree with his remark about commercial film scores. Just look at Speilberg and John Williams. That stuff just makes me want to hurl. Thanks for the post. btw: where was this recorded?

  • no idea man sorry, but i belive it was made sometime between 1999 and 2002 :)

  • actually i would say 1994 or 1995 as he talks about never meeting neil young in 1996 he did a documentary with neil

  • @grandeizer Dude, I appreciate imaginative, unconventional scoring in equally quirky films, but don't go knockin' John Williams, the man is a genius!

  • excellent! thanks!

  • my pleasure:)
