I went through far more at that home than I'll be able to list here. I do remember Ivelise who spoke to me only briefly during the entire 2 years I lived there and her show of concern was very obviously forced and fake. It's up to others whether they believe me or not, if they even care, (frankly, I myself couldn't care less if they do or they don't), but others should know that Penny Lane wasn't safe or nurturing for all of us. These folks aren't as saintly as they paint themselves to be.

I'm one of the girls who'd lived here and though some staff members were great, others were quite abusive, especially the therapists. I had one (Beverly) who would scream at me and insult me during group therapy sessions and one of the supervisors (Esther) stole almost $45 from me. One of the male staff members (Kevin) also had sex with a girl (Laura) who was 15 at the time, and when I was old enough to leave they virtually threw me out on the street and accredited themselves for "helping" me.

This place made me a person that I am today. I had no family and nowhere to go. I was totally discouraged and nontrusting. They took me in and gave me a foundation of trust and help. This is a remarkable Women with such True Beauty. I will always be grateful!

Ivalise is one of the most beautiful persons I've known ,deep in my soul forever! I am one of the first bunch of Girls that lived in Penny Lane when she took me in. No family. Ivelise and her Family helped me believe in myself. I am today what they gave me in the past. True- Love - Friendship and Family. I will never forget the great opportunity I was given.
