A good, hard-hitting idea there. You're absolutely right that current penalties for cheating are a total joke and will do nothing. Maybe throwing a whole team out is a bit harsh since probably not the whole team is even aware of them cheating. But it is true, without doubt, that something has to be done to get cheating out of NASCAR!

The driver has no way of knowing whether the suspension is set .001" too low or whatever. Sometimes a car will fall outside the legal tolerances even though nobody in particular "cheated" -- metals stretch, fatigue, etc. over time. Draconian penalties can't repeal the laws of physics.

99% of the time the driver doesnt cheat, its the crew that does, but you should take the car out of the race that week unless its something stupid.
