Don't you understand that he had been feeling guilty about Layne Staley's death since way back in 2002. He was his best friend and felt that he, himself, let Layne die because he said he'd never talk to him again if he called 911 and Layne said he was so stupid while hopped up on benzos. He said he'll just leave and Layne said "not like this."

@dimebagdave77 he stole Layne's art work and a series of drawings he was woking on to make into a cartoon for his recently born nephew.Those item were "magically "put up for sale on a website(I forget which one)by a mysterious seller (Starr)and bought back by Layne's mom Nancy.He also stole money,as Layne has alot of cash laying around his apartment.Other thing were stolen for future sale to anonymous collectors.These things were witnessed there by friends,and were gone when Layne was found.

Watch Celebrity Rehab, you will realize just how messed up he was over it Layne's Mom came to tell Mike it was ok. She told Mike to move on with his life; Layne would be proud of him. It's sad that his demons came back and got him in the end. Now he's with Layne making music for eternity. RIP to both

Why did no one in Layne's family, his Girlfriend, his friends, his bandmates anyone not check on him for 2 weeks? Maybe someone did see him after Mike and they didn't call 911. The coroner estimated time of death to be 2 weeks prior. That's not an absolute date.

I have been a close friend of mikes since the 6th grade and know him better than most.He was in a band called SATO in high school and drugs were not prevelant in his life then,a little pot here and there.When A.I.C started,he changed alot...for the worse.I saw him the last time in 2006 and i hardly recognized him.I pray that this is the wake up call he clings to.I would like my friend back. actually I was just watching a bonus clip from Celebrity Rehab 3 and Mike said that he was with Layne that night and that Layne told him his body was shutting down and he took off for a couple of hours and Layne died. Said he was wacked out on some pills for like 2 weeks and then they found Layne. Pretty fucking sick.
Did he really say that on the clip from Celebrity Rehab or it's only hearsay ? If he was with Layne that night, why didn't he call an ambulance or something ?
IMO, he was jealous of Layne and maybe he saw an opportunity to clear off... I really can't believe he said he was with him that night but didn't do anything to save his so-called friend !!!!!

The person spent three days posting pics of the inside of Layne's apartment, knew of things no one else did like Layne's storage getting ripped off and items winding up at auction. The car Nancy drivers and its history etc... That is very legit info and Mike has history as well.

@lysyrg25 Layne told Mike that if he called for help their friendship would be over. He could be found in a bar in Seattle sitting in a corner every day. Mike was haunted by not helping Layne. Watch Celebrity Rehab, you will realize just how messed up he was over it Layne's Mom came to tell Mike it was ok. She told Mike to move on with his life; Layne would be proud of him. It's sad that his demons came back and got him in the end. Now he's with Layne making music for eternity. RIP to both

@lysyrg25 yes, he was "haunted" and they were both addicts doing things that were wrong. Layne was going to die one way or the other; that's just the truth. He was at that bar almost every day nodding off. Ask anyone who lived in Seattle at the time. My husband knew Layne and the others. Some people just don't know what they are talking about.

@lysyrg25 Yeah, no one can blame anyone except the person who intro'd Layne to the stuff that killed him and himself for not wanting help. We all make mistakes and we all have to pay for them. Your sense of judgement is way off when your as high as they were. My dad just died 5/1/2010, from alcohol & pain pills(Oxy)Thanks for sharing your comment. It's hard when you loose a loved one. Why did no one in Layne's family, his Girlfriend, his friends, his bandmates anyone not check on him for 2 weeks? Maybe someone did see him after Mike and they didn't call 911. The coroner estimated time of death to be 2 weeks prior. That's not an absolute date.

Emetal's comments start on page 48,and go for dozens of pages.Truely amazing stuff. I'm glad you found it,it takes a little digging.the whole forum is great,with all the pictures of Layne and his car..etc.That's all I'm asking is for people to make up their own minds.starr partied with Layne on his BD every year.and,it's very strange thatEmetal says ,that he was there on his BD when only now,he states it years after gave that information out. I have been a close friend of mikes since the 6th grade and know him better than most.He was in a band called SATO in high school and drugs were not prevelant in his life then,a little pot here and there.When A.I.C started,he changed alot...for the worse.I saw him the last time in 2006 and i hardly recognized him.I pray that this is the wake up call he clings to.I would like my friend back. J, Thanks I have seen it and that was the hardest pill he had to swallow, but HE LET ALL OUT! He will have know.. IT WAS NOT HIS FAULT!!!I I spent many years saying if I would have done this or that They would still be alive today, now I know I went above and beyond to help. I am much older and back then the help from a rehab was a joke! People went there to get away and received all the drugs they asked for! I am venting also, just shocking to see what people say.

This is a disease just like cancer for those of you out there that should know this, it is 2010 people. WAKE UP. Most that I tried to help and spent many hours as well as money are in the graveyard. Just like cancer, the drugs killed them in the end. holloh... revenge ...YOU ARE SICKER than all of the people in the hospital put together! YOU NEED HELP DUDE! Well,Nancy hated starr.She banned him from an annevrsery of Layne's BD or death day,I don't know.And I know now,Nancy has not called starr or stopped by to see how he's doing.hmmmmm.They have had no conversation since the Dr.Wacko show starrs on.I wrather doubt Nanct considers starr a son,or loves him.If she did,she would surely want to be a part of that,But,no communication whatsoever.But you are intittled to ur opinion,as am I.

Mike Starr is a person who has done great things in his life unlike most of you! God willing he will soon be back.
I have modeled in New York, Paris, London and many other places all over the world and have seen first hand what happens and have also spent millions and many hours with people violently sick from withdrawals.

Well done Albert! As for the rest of you, from your comments sounds that you are using or a complete retard. Why don't you go to a nursing home and spend time with the children in there or at least feed some of the elderly people that are unable to feed themselves, their trey's in most just sit on a table and all they can do is look at it. I have been going to them on my own for over 30 years and have seen this many times!

IMO, I think Mike Starr spent 17 years pissed off beeing kicked out AIC. Imagine how it must be boring be kicked out of one of the greatest band of the 90' and see his substitute that acts in his shoes and does the things that he used to do be4... Plus, old mates didn't and still do not look around him. I wonder if he wasn't thinking about revenge ideas...

Actually, Mike left the band and he was pretty mutual with the guys. He couldn't take the touring and wanted to spend time with his family.

actually I was just watching a bonus clip from Celebrity Rehab 3 and Mike said that he was with Layne that night and that Layne told him his body was shutting down and he took off for a couple of hours and Layne died. Said he was wacked out on some pills for like 2 weeks and then they found Layne. Pretty fucking sick.

IMO, he was jealous of Layne and maybe he saw an opportunity to clear off... I really can't believe he said he was with him that night but didn't do anything to save his so-called friend !!!!!

wow,, i just watched the show,, I gotta find that bonus clip.. I couldn't believe layne's mom was on the show. I wish they would have more "behind the music " or something more informative about the band and what all happend over the years.

The person spent three days posting pics of the inside of Layne's apartment, knew of things no one else did like Layne's storage getting ripped off and items winding up at auction. The car Nancy drivers and its history etc... That is very legit info and Mike has history as well.
