I was a disc jockey on an FM rock station on a snowy night in 1980. That night I decided to take a chance & play an unlikely artist for that station. I played Elvis' "Power of My Love," & "I'll Hold You In My Heart." I thought I'd catch hell, instead the phone lines lit up & we had to get extra help. People unfamiliar with Elvis never heard his blusier album tracks & some simply asked "who the hell is that?" Seemed he was "re-discovered" that night. It was the highlight of my radio days.

I purchased an Elvis CD for my mother that was in a nursing rehab before she passed. This song was on the cd. I came to visit her the next day. She wrote on a piece of paper (because she had a trech in) for me to listen to this song. I listened to the song with her. We LOVED it! She would play the song over and over like a teenage girl listening to Elvis music. Jackie I love all your videos. I know you love Elvis the way I do. I thought I was his number one fan. I really thought he was singing just to me. I was 14 at the time. He helped my heart and soul to heal. I always wanted him to know that.I don't think he ever knew what his singing meant to people. God sent him to earth for that reason. I was an abused child. He brought me so much peace. That may sound silly but it is true. I am a 66 year old woman now. I love him still.
