  • there is Chabad version of the blessing over the lulav:

    Barukh Ata Schneerson

    Rasha Schneerson Melekh Ha'olam

    Asher Kidshanu Bemitzvotav Vetzivanu Al

    Moshiach Schneerson Lulav

  • I am not lubavich, but you should be ashamed of yourself for this lashon hara.

  • These may not be perfect examples of observance, but the lulav is supposed to be shaked each day of Sukkot, right? Well, what are you gonna do after you shake it the "perfect" way? After that, aren't you allowed to shake it in a way that expresses your joy?

The important thing is that this video reminds people of the joyousness of Sukkot, as expressed in the shaking of the Lulav.

Let this video inspire more Jews to enter into that joy.

  • its key to have rebbe-directed kavannah to complete this mitzva halachically so as to avoid disturbing klippot that remain from our exit from mitztrayim. also if a non jew touches the etrog it may not be used until carefully examined by a qualified rabbi. Schneerson Brand Etrogs are always um...interesting :)

  • you are right!!

they had the privilege to do a beautiful mitzvah!

looking back i have no idea why i would have written that having been in Yerushalayim during sukkot i do remember seeing the most beautiful 4 minim; to say they were wilted and brown is a miner statement but they were beautiful because HUNDREDS of ppl had said a brocha on them!

  • I thought the entire land of the Five Towns was given to the Jewish people as an enternal inheritance by God and that all Jews belong in the Five Towns. Personally, I'm going to stay in the Happy Valley

  • Shaking the Lulav = Ownage.

  • It's just so funny. I want to see more from sinaimail- their videos kick ass!

  • how cute!

  • That's how we do it at our synagogue but we use the B52's.

  • shaking the Lulav is truly a mystic idea. people who shake the Lulav are actually observing a law of God Himself. Maybe someone can help understand how the good Lord came to figure out such a custom. It's truly amazing and your video has shown this more clearly than anything else I've seen. Was it really so boisterous in the days of King David or was it more a very sedate and dignified procedure? Please help me find the answers to these questions.

  • It's supposed to be joyous. I picture it being like those large foam #1 fingers that sports fanatics shake for their team.

  • Wow.. great job SinaiMail! Makes me want to get up and shake my lulav...

  • terrific!! Yeshar koach to whever put this together

  • so that's what you do with this lulav. i was realy wondering...

  • shake it!

  • Just as long as you can shake it! Yeah!

People need shakin' and shaking needs people, alright.

  • so awesome

  • Chag Sameach.

  • Loved it! Who knew that shaking the lulav would become a hip thing to do! Hag Sameach!!

  • Amazing how well this song goes with shaking the lulav.... who knew?!

  • Very cute!

  • Happy!!

  • I heard about this from my cousin.

    Does it kill the tree?

  • Does "what" kill the tree? There are 4 items they are shaking- a citron (called etrog), palm branch, myrtle branches and willow branches. Harvesting these items does not kill any of the trees to the best of my knowledge. The 4 items hold up pretty well for a week- except for the willow branches which look pretty beat up after a few days.

  • Hilarious. That guy in the hat at 0:58 is the best.

  • This video is awesome! Everyone I know will be getting this link!

  • this is so funny!!

  • I agree that it is a really funny video.. and 25,000 other people agree with me... I wonder who's idea it was? Who is the guy in the hat at 0:58 they talk of?.. they say he steals the show.. but my vote is still for the falafel guy...
