I am really interested in motorcycling thanks to you and M13 but with a high rate of deaths in motorcycles accidents (here in Brazil at least) it makes me think twice. Any safety tips or if the danger is really THAT high ?

@LSPena777 The one thing you always have to be aware of is that you are the only thing taking care of your safety, you have no back up such as airbags or a roll cage so you really have to look after yourself. Expect that other motorists don´t see you and anticipate for that. Still even if you do all that there is still a risk, but usually if a rider gets killed it´s not their own fault. In Holland it isn't too bad, but i also have had my number of close calls.

I have a 1990 CB-1 400f ,it's in surprisingly good shape,tagged and inspected blah ,blah,boast,lol. It may be faster than a ninja 250 but I think its shorter geared believe it or not.And shitty gas mileage ,I think my carbs may need to be adjusted or something. Does your exhaust smell rich,gassy?Sorry rambling.

Your lucky..in israel i pay $1k just for insurace for a year..and the goverment wana raise it even more so ill be paying almost $1.5k just for the insurance starting from november first..so we portest n shit and block traffic lulz..

You are looking at 2 complete different bikes

I would suggest a 250 as you are only 16. and when I was 16 I was weight to over confident in my driving ability

If money isn't an issue I'd say R6 but there is a lot of pros and cons, robm425's comment is good.

plus insurance for a 16 year old on an R6 may be really high if you are paying for that

The web did help build the frenzy. I ended up buying a Yamaha R6 white and red:-)

hey bro what a coincidence i got into motorcycling the same time my sophomore year in hs. It was 9 dollars to park and with a car that was too much. Motorcycle gets free parking :)(theres a secret spot big enough for a few bikes shhh keep it on the dl lol) well anyways im a junior now and still havent gotten my ninja by christmas time i should have enough money and yea its winter but i live in TN and it doesnt snow just gets down in low 40s. a 09 zx6r is the best super sport 600 ever made. just some words of advice. and a gixxer always comes in 2nd since since 05.

because a 250 will cost MUCH less on insurance, especially if you're a young male. Also, if you're just starting, the power on 600cc sport race bikes can be quite dangerous.

well i was gonna start and buy a car and get all mmoeny ready for a car for when am 17 ( 15 now )

then i looked at buying a ped for when i was 16 but i soon realised why not buy a road leagle quad cuz i like to do offroad and a road leagle quad is the best of all things :)

dont have 2 wear a helmet but im gonna anyway duhh and aint insanley expensive and can get a fast quad for about 2 - 3 grand =D

I got into motorcycle's when I was 6, I moved into a neighborhood with alot of mud lots and wanted something to ride around there and go mudding and I bought a 400 dollar fourwheeler, then goo-cart, sold them and bought a honda 50, then a yamaha pw80, then a honda crf 70 and put custom part's on it, then sold that bought a yamaha 90, and sold that spent my money and now I am about to purchase a ninja 250. I just have always liked them I guess...
