I've known about this for a couple of years now. It sounds fairly credible. But upon researching it, the various information that I have found differs in where the plane was supposed to take off from.
This video says Newark. Most reports say it was supposed to take off from JFK. Yet another I've seen says Boston.
Based on the eveidence, it was almost certainly from a New York area airport (Newark or JFK).
As we approach the 10 year aniversary, maybe more info will come to light about it.

I remember seeing this on a history channel special. Sounds like an attack was prevented at least.
