That is a very very naive statement. In this country we use electronic voting machines that are easily rigged. We cannot just vote out whoever we want. Their are not babies, they are foetus at a level of development that makes such they couldn't survive. Not only this but it is retroactive 6 months so if by some miracle law controlling federal funding of abortions were to change the day before the health bill passes all procedures under this bill would still abide by the old rules.

It's not a question of changing the law in terms of "what abortions are permissible and what aren't."
It's a question of what money will be spent on abortions, how much or how little the government would like to subsidize abortion. The oft-cited Hyde Amendment only pertains to Medicaid, not the Health Care bill, so it doesn't come into play.
So govt. is leaving the law alone, and throwing massive amounts of money for abortion services.

France is not communist either, it has among the biggest corporations in the world.

Frenchs live a full 3 more years than Americans and their health care system is usually ranked first in the world in independent studies.
Their tax rates are higher than in the US, but you have to pay for living in a civilized country. Societies require governement. It is perhaps too big in France (23% of GDP, compared to 16% in US).
The unemployment rate in France is 10%, US 9.7%. Not a significant difference. It is much lower in United Kingdom at 7.8%.
So, you are wrong on most points.

Their are not babies, they are foetus at a level of development that makes such they couldn't survive. Foetuses gain moral value during the pregnancy so that, eventually, their elimination becomes murder at a later stage. But it's a constant compromise between the health (including mental) of the mother and that of the foetus.

The Hyde Amendment prohibits federal Medicaid and Medicare money from being spent on most types of abortion, including pregnancies that threaten the womans health or involve fetal anomalies. Federal money can only be used to pay for an abortion when the pregnancy threatens the life of the woman or results from rape or incest.

It doesn't take a genius to see that the language presented states that the law that exists regarding federal funding of abortion will not change. Not only this but it is retroactive 6 months so if by some miracle law controlling federal funding of abortions were to change the day before the health bill passes all procedures under this bill would still abide by the old rules.

It's not a question of changing the law in terms of "what abortions are permissible and what aren't."
It's a question of what money will be spent on abortions, how much or how little the government would like to subsidize abortion. The oft-cited Hyde Amendment only pertains to Medicaid, not the Health Care bill, so it doesn't come into play.
So govt. is leaving the law alone, and throwing massive amounts of money for abortion services.
