and the Amarna Princess, judging it for what it is,an early 21 century sculpture,it says nothing about the 'artist' or modern living, technically it is quite simple,in the bottom right corner the vessel? is unfinished, unless this was done for a conceptual purpose this takes from its artistic worth.A true artistic masterpiece was never created for the sole purpose of financial gain,I don't think you can argue with that. Not only is it not a masterpiece, its not art,its crafty craft.
I agree this would make a wonderful movie. Shauns a supurb artist in his own right. And you can't help but laugh at the fact the family scammed some museums and so called art experts. Shot Shaun and George!
Written and directed by Nick Hornby ?,the Nick Hornby?,anyhow what a shame the shed was flattened,it should have had a plaque attached to commemorate some superb art being produced therein. What a remarkable talent Shaun has,as for the whole story, you really could not have made it up could you?.
This man basically acknowledged the dedication and lifestyle of what the old master's would've experienced.
Art was everything for this guy, for what? - three decades? and he reproduced artifact, etchings and paintings (amongst other things) almost exactly the same as the originals.
This man's talent is unrivalled by today's art community, nobody could replicate him.
kurogganes9 is spot on.he obviously kno,s what hes talking about.thank you for all these 6 parts that have opened my eyes to this miscarriage of justice and thank you to kurogganes9 for pointing out the truth in a much more elegant way than i cud have.
@paulyoldmac The only "replica" was a Roman Lanx carved from metal, which has been lost for 2 and half centuries. He carved the Amarna Princess and a 680 BC, Asyrian tablet. His crime was misrepresentation, the actual works were Masterpieces.
Rembrandt use to sign his name to the paintings of his students and sell them as his own, Art dealers steal too, except they call it "Fair Market Value" and "Wholesale Estimates". Then auction your Item for 10 times their "Fair" estimate.
@cwilliams3567 If the worlds top art experts call it a masterpiece and was purchased by the British Museum and displayed as a Masterpiece, then displayed for the Queen.Yeah, Its a masterpiece. "Masterpiece" is in the details itself. The Amarna Princess wasnt Egyptian but it was original, not copied from any other, and was a master carving. Every old master in history copied from another artist. DaVinci, Michaelangelo, Caravaggio etc..
@cwilliams3567 weren't all the "worlds top art experts" and the british museum duped calling their expertise into question?displayed for the queen no less! hahaha mo chara i'm irish,if the queen had it up her royal hole i wouldn't be impressed, artists are influenced by each other, the artists you name each had their own original style and concepts which is why you know their names.

i wouldn't rate being able to produce exact replicas of things no matter how difficult,it'd be good to see some of his original stuff though

@cwilliams3567 to be a masterpiece a work has to be original, would you call a flawless copy of a van gogh from a sweatshop in China a masterpiece?
