The Goat has close to 480-500ghp at that point, the C6 about 420-430, so yes, from a roll the GTO should win. From a dig, the vette being lighter would pull initially, I'd guess. Could also be different gas octanes. 93 will beat 87 or 89 anyday...

Though that GTO isn't stock, it was still taking the Vette with the better Aerodynamics and weight. Which means that GTO has over 430 HP. But nice on the GTO' s part, very nice race.

I guess the best way to look at it is this. An 2006 Vette costs 35,000, and an 2006 GTO costs 15,000.

If you buy a GTO and spend the remaining 20g on mods, you will need a rear view telescope to see any Vette going against you.

All that being said, Vettes look way better..... :-x

I don't know why everyone is arguing. Both are real nice cars. I have a GTO and love it, but the 600 pound weight difference makes me wish I had a Vette sometimes. At least for fuel mileage. Of course, my GTO has a turbo kit and a tune (still working on the tune) so I don't worry about too many vettes.

It may be more aerodynamic and weigh a lot less than the GTO but it will be able to keep up. 2005 GTO comes stock with a 400HP LS2 engine. The Vette Only has 31 more HP. The GTO will easily go 150+ mph.
