Was a teen in the 80s but I remember alot of this music. I took an appreciation to music as early as 6 and can still remember some of the memories associated with, good as well as bad but I would never trade those memories for anything in the world. I'm sure every generation feels the same.

For those that think Gilbert O'Sullivan was a pedifile, it was written to make you think he was besotten by a lady, but the words were just fine for a toddler once you knew you'd been had.

I can think of hundreds, literally, of songs in that era that were wonderful and never make the list. I was 11 when Willy Willy Willy Won't go Home, and I thought that song was really fun.

"Claire" was a pretty good - sized hit in the USA. I'll take "Get Down" , personally , out of anything Gilbert O'Sullivan ever did. "Mexico" is an adaptation of Johnny Horton's "Battle of New Orleans" , a big hit , probably anywhere but England , where Lonnie Donnegan released a version with altered lyrics. Hey, it's FUN to see this stuff , whether you like the songs or not.
