@jaquen1977 There you go again romancing nostalgic. Walking in a dimly lit city perhaps encountering an old flame at an all night diner for a cup of joe where your eyes meet sharing the night until dawn crests upon a new day where opportunities await you both.
@geo386 You're killing me here. The imagery is simply on point. I can feel the cool breeze, a slight nip in the air, the warm glow of an all night diner, the way it heats your flesh and your soul. Two lovers slipping out of time and into reunion. I love it.
@jaquen1977 Oh come now, you know how much you enjoy when I wax nostalgic. The eloquent way in which I can derive imagery with mere words and instill a sense of warmth and charm. With a slight flair for the mildly dramatic. I will be moving soon and would appreciate if you remained in contact with this old softie
I love this promo. It has all the elements of post-WW2 America in the big city. Part of the city is going to sleep and part still beats on. I remember the feel of this atmosphere when I was a kid in Chicago back before gangsta's and drive by shootings.
I think it's just an original blues written for these bumpers. I don't even think it has an actual melody--there are two, possibly three different versions of this bumper...the visuals are exactly the same, but for some reason different versions of this same song. None of them seem to have a definable tune, but just sort of noodle "around" some suggestion of a melody. One of the other versions is also on Youtube. I think they're just playing to some written chord changes.
Does anyone know the name of some songs that sound similar? ty

My favorite clips are this one and the morning one... it shows a sunrise in Chicago over what I think is the CTA Brown Line.

It's it funny how much a cool, late night in a half sleeping city can just warm the heart? I love this.

A lot of these clips are from Killer's Kiss, but what is the one with the car shutting its lights off in front of the bridge?
jonohull 2 years ago
Dunno that one, but at least a couple of shots, including the final one, are from Pennies From Heaven.

@jonohull I too would love to know where the car/bridge shot comes from. It's incredibly atmospheric.

@jonohull That is the George Washington Bridge and the clip is from Alfred Hitchcock's "The Wrong Man" starring Henry Fonda.
