Calling this a JX3P-demo may be a bit of a stretch. The JX3P was routed through the RE-201 for the entire session. Even when neither the tape echo- nor the spring-sections were engaged, there is still some overdrive coloration from the RE201s inputs to be heard. However, I think the characteristic JX3P-sound shines through it all. It's definitely something!
@captainleisuresuit most people stay closer to the preset sounds, and it takes a little coaxing to make the most of the JX3P's potential, but once you do it's fully capable of sounding VERY close to a jupiter. anyone who thinks it sounds thin just hasn't gone deep enough.
I've never played a Jupiter, and don't really have any feelings one way or the other about them. I just like the JX3P for what it is. A simple synth that is easily editable and has an interesting sound that my ears happen to like.
@prinsenafprinsesseg you could throw the jupiter comparison in my comment out altogether - the point was just that it's capable of some very big, warm, and interesting sounds that are a far cry from most of the presets and the reputation this synth has as "thin-sounding".
With mine, I can only access channel A, and I can only get to channel C by pressing the "write" button. I also can't turn on/off the chorus button. It's really frustrating not to be able to access channel b+d. It was fine on the day I got it, but somehow I pressed something that made it glitch like this.I actually got it to work today for a few hours for the first time in months, but it soon went back after I messed something up again. Do you know how to reverse this? I hope you can help!
Is it just the button being a bit dodgy, I mean have you tried just pressing it down a few times/hardish
If somethings a bit dodgy you could probably get it repaired. Google Synthesizer repair then your area(where you live) and someone probably will come up... might need to travel an hour or two...
Best 3P demo so far. 2:57 and 1:10 really shows it off well. Actually all of it really. Post more...

Sounds great. Was the Space Echo in use the whole video? Your JX3P sounds warmer and richer than other JX3P demos.

The production run began in 1983 - not 1982.
