He is using active EMG pick ups in his guitar, so even though he's on a blues OD setting at 4:54, it's not going to sound like the blues. I have this peddle and you can create some great blues tones--they sound a bit like those from a tube screamer.

@DavinaFaerie you can always try using a line-6 amp, they have distortions, phasers, chorus, delay, reverbs and all that good stuff, and they aren't hard to find at all

Absolutely HATE the sound of this pedal when plugged in dorect to my recording unit... But i havent tried through my marshall and using a mic.

And anyone having problems with the wah, open up the unit, and where you see the pedal pushing the button to activate the wah, stick a little rectangle of cardboard in it. It sounds ghetto i know, but really its SO much easier to activate.

@NickTheNimrod No you can get the FS-6 to switch banks with or if you are in memory mode you can hold down one of the pedals for 2 seconds and then you can go down banks with pedal 1 up with pedal 2 then select the bank with pedal 3.

This thing sounds horrible. The distortion, pretty saturated and muddy. And trust me, it's not my guitar. I tried it with my amp, and the distortion was terrible, plus it affects your tone. Not trying to bash this product, but just a word of advice: Get seperate distortion pedals.

OK. Master Level is turned to maximum. Looks like he's using an ESP with EMG's. Not the sort of sound that I'd associate with "nice blues sound". That said the ME-20 does have a very nice blues sound fully configurable as it's based on the Boss BD1 pedal. The downside with using this pedal is that to take full advantage of it live you need to bend down to access the switches.

IMO: This thing eats your tone ... the only use for it (if anything at all) is for the compressor and perhaps the delay (note: NOT the reverb). The EQ could be useful ... but like you said, I wouldn't buy this one.

@gugabool1 well i've had this for like.... 3 years already. with a not-so-metal guitar, you can still get great watery tones and almost an acoustic simulator with a split coil with a compressor turned on. you can get nice clean crunchy tones too. but it takes alot of your own custom presets (but the factory settings are all really ugly and cheap-sounding) hope it helps

Modern Boss is rubbish!! I own several Vintage Boss pedals and they blow away everything they have now for quailty! Boss made the CE-1 and CE-2 chorus pedals which are GREAT! its insulting that they will tell you now that their latest units have these classic effects built in?? they sound nothing like the originals

But i have this channel on my line 6 spider 3 amp with reverb and delay on it. is there any way i can use this pedal to just add reverb and delay at the same time to my valveking distortion?
