Okay, to everyone with the "OMG IT'S BAROQUE DUDE" comments: by all means, please do continue to bitch about it as though you yourselves have never made a mistake before in your lives . For crying out loud, can you not just enjoy the fact that the song is being played beautifully, regardless of whether or not it's Baroque? I'm sure that he knows by now with the swamp of comments people keep making. Ease up as bit, okay? Just enjoy the music.
Excellent! It's a hard piece and you play it at a fast clip. Isn't it amazing how Bach turns on chords and goes to the strangest places but always makes it home? And always credibly and logically? The incomparable Master.
Actually, I like your performance more than all the other guitarists who posted their version on youtube. Not because you're a better guitarist (splitting hairs at this level, really), but because you played over a harpsichord and not some goddamned Trans-Siberia sounding orchestration. Simple and tasteful. Mature creative sensibilities and skilled attentive ear.
Sweet chocolate hell, I think my brain just exploded from overexposure to AWESOME! The intensity of the guitar-gasms I am now having (to what is *literally* my favorite song in the entire world!) are astounding. Well done, sir! You deserve a large piece of cheesecake or sugary treat of your choosing!
being a flautist who can play this song, and a guitar player, i can say confidently that he played this song excellently.
Most if not all baroque music is open to interpretation. Any music scholar keeps an open mind when looking at music from this era and most can agree that there is no exact way a song should be played. Even the composers from this era thought this way.
Criticizing him for his 'incorrect' use of legato is ridiculous.
El arreglo es excelente, demuestra que se puede combinar efectivamente la técnica contemporánea con la instrumentacion que acompaña la línea solista de la interpretacion clásica. Muy buena
@parquar: Ahh, every time a person publishes his/her own interpretation of a song, someone always comes and starts splitting hairs and nagging about the "CORRECT way to play" it...
This sounds good, it's the main thing. Everyone sure does recognise it as Badinerie - with or without legatos.
It isn't appearing as if he intends to play it legato but is rather not paying much effort to HOW he plays it. On guitar that way is the way it comes out if you don't go to special effort making it staccato. That isn't at all splitting hairs. The arpeggio section in the very beginning and its various repetitions sound really wrong legato
@korjser I think he just means how he is playing the lead part with distorted, electric guitar , like Yngwie Malmsteen and all that neo-classical metal stuff
That was awesome, I would though try to play it even more staccato with super short notes, but it's totally a matter of personal taste and otherwise your phrasing is to my liking, love the trills
I don't play a fuck. I don't know much about music, but I know that this is a nice effort to play the Badinerie with an electric guitar. I'm sure J. S. Bach would be pleased to hear this version and even he would try to play himself. All what I'm saying is: This sounds nice, fuck off conservative cunts! Let it be!
Wow, really great! My only critisicm would be your articulation. A little slurred.. I realise this is your own interpretation and all but thought i'd just point that out ;)
hi! pretty good: the sound, the fingering, the timing... :) may i know whether this is a backing track that you have or this is the original JS Bach playing in the back (i thought it was a flute in the original Badinerie)

Baroque is an artistic period prevalent from late 16th century to the early 18th century in Europe. It is followed by Classicism..
