  • Hey! I finally made some time to thank you! I spent close to a month researching which mini-recorder to get and I came across your Reelin video. Great work! Decision made. That was a few years ago and since then I've recorded some stuff and posted them to youtube! Thank you! I've been having a blast!

  • Glad it helped in your decision making process. I hope it lives up to your expectations.

  • Great great job, man i seem to not have the motivation to complete long work for it, i have got to do it., i have one too

  • Top notch playing brotha I've had my BR about 8 months and unfortunatly I don't do well with manuals so thanks to you tub I am just now becoming familiar with my recorder anyway your recording sounds great I loved the multitracked guitar Bravo!!!

  • Hats off to you - Boss should give you an endorsement deal!

  • man that sounds good like the original, how about the solo till do it again

  • dang dude, nice job!

  • i have a br-600 and i cant even do this yet. great job man.

  • Love what you have laid down here using the micro br. "Reeling" has always been a favorite tune of mine and your version really shines! Could I ask you what guitar/gear was used and what tone settings you used on the micro br? Thanks and again super job on the song! Jeff Baxter would be honored.

  • Thanks . . . The guitar was an Artinger Semi-Hollow with Joe Barden PUs. It was plugged directly into the BR using one of the presets (slightly modified for delay and reverb). Regarding the tone settings on the BR, I can't remember anything specific except that I used the mixdown settings in the BR. And I think it's Elliot Randall that should be proud . . . it was his guitar playing on the original!

  • Elliot Randall it is then, and yes, he would be honored. Appreciate your reply and all the info. Wishing you limber fingers, clean deliveries, and more time to accomplish the things you love to do.

  • Thanks . . . and of all your kind wishes, it is more time that is the hardest of all to obtain!

  • your guitar tones sound alot like the original record - sweeet.

I find the distortion presets on the BR pretty poor so Im amazed you get such a natural sound. could you elaborate more on how you did this? Is that down to just the quality of your guitar?

  • Ive just bought one of these, for once Id have to say the manuals essential, but you soon pick it up, copyings still a pain but Im getting there,,the phantom power means I can record ambient sounds directly while the recorders stealthily hid in my pocket, ace! Has anyone else heard about a possible way to record 2 different tracks at once using an elaborate system of cables? Do-able I think--ps register this thing online for a further 2 years on the warranty (UK)

  • i listen to this tune everytime i go to you tube. it makes me smile. also its like listening to steely dan.

  • You made me smile just knowing that you listen to this version! Thanks for the kind words!

  • did you use anything but micro br and one guitar overtubbed?

  • Nope, except for the bass guitar (also through the Micro BR), that's all there was to it!

  • I've just bought one of these off ebay and after hearing this, I can't wait for it to arrive! Great tune btw.

  • Can you use the BR like a loop station (RC-2 type). I mean play something, let it continue and add another "track" parallel with the first one. I believe this can be done by recording everything to separate tracks and then mixing it, but this is not what Im looking for. Nice Demo!!

  • Wow, fucking awsome recording dude!

wondering, does the Boss micro record straight as a mp3 file or do u have to encode it off of the Boss micro and on the pc instead?

  • I've had a Micro Br for awhile now and I'm still getting to grips with it. That's what I get for never reading manuals I suppose. Can't sort the drum machine at all.

  • Reading the manual is essential for the drum patterns. Once you figure it out, it's pretty straight forward to understand.

  • good stuff! love the dual guitars!

I dont suppose you cld give an micor br tips cause I not getting along with it!

I cant seem to delete my songs to make space, or put any songs on my mac (they just end up on itunes as 4 separate tracks!) : \

oh yeah and every time I come back to a song the drums have gone back to a default tempo!

lol help! Im shit with technology : P

  • man you can set the rythm you have to go to arranger to do so.. and you can eraze thae song also.. you have to do mastering to get it as a single track with every thing on each track

  • Yeah I got a micro br about 2 weeks ago, it's great. The recording speaks for itself.

  • Cool man, I'm definitely picking up a micro br as soon as possible!

  • Man . . . I should be selling these myself!

  • does it have a mic? maybe for singing purposes or live drum track recording. if it does, does the br has a feature that can detect and eliminate noise?

  • It has a mic. There is a noise gate built it, but I haven't tested it to any great extent.

  • Great playing.

  • Why . . . Thanks! That was as much fun as I've had--putting this together on a new recorder--in a while! Glad you enjoyed it

  • is recording easy on the Micro BR? for example overdubbing with punch in and drum programming?

  • It's really easy. Very intuitive for punch-ins and programming! I love it for its intended purpose . . . a very powerful scratch pad.

  • Who or what is playing the bass? It sounds too good to be the bass simulator (played on guitar). And great playing too! The guitar is not half bad. Better than I expected on this little thing.

  • That's me playing the bass on a Fender Precision. I played everything on this song and programmed the drums as best I could on the BR. There are four tracks of guitar at times along with the bass (bounced tracks). I actually love the BR. For it's intended purpose, it's pretty close to perfect.

  • hey, I like it..

you play good enough to make a record.

nowadays I am planning to buy micro br, and I still couldn't decide. but I think ı will..

    good playing bro!

  • Thanks! I LOVE the Micro BR for it's ease of use for getting an idea recorded. The drums are very useable, and the entire process is relatively easy once you play with it for a while. Get one and enjoy it, then let me know when you post something you recorded! Thanks again for the kind words.

  • Can you record an amp through the Br or do you have to plug straight in and use the tones it comes with?

  • You could use an amp through the input jack, but the whole idea is its ease of use. If you start doing all that stuff, you might want to invest in a real multi-track recorder. But this has pretty decent tones built in for getting the point across. All the tones on this and the other Micro BR songs I posted are using the internal tones.

  • Awesome,BTW does it come with effects like reverb and delay and stuff?

  • Reverb, delay, chorus, flanger, phaser, amp models, speaker simulators, mic placement, and more are completely controlable!

  • thanks for the info, now i wan't one haha how much does it cost?

  • You can find them for as little as $200. Go on ebay or somewhere online . . . or Guitar Center, of course! You'll love it!

  • Great playing!

  • Thanks . . . it's the first time I tried to do all the parts, instrumental style. Glad you liked it!
