During this time, the dormant Jenova cells started to perfectly copy all of the memories Zack kept telling Cloud while he travelled with the comatose Cloud. After the sudden shock from seeing Zack die before him, and combined with Zacks last words, calling Cloud his "Living Legacy", the Genova cells in Clouds body overwrote his memories, substituting in all of Zack's past as his own.

@ThePetewar Cloud's own past was washed away. Sephiroth tricks Cloud later on by saying that those memories are false and he was never there, causing Cloud to doubt his own existence and beleive he is nothing but a created puppet, but later on after he ended up in the lifestream somehow with Tifa, she helped him recover his true past by showing her own memories of what happened that day, showing that he truly was there, that he really did exist, causing him to recall his lost past.

He has some sort of magics (unexplained) within him that allows him to controll its length between five and ten feet, as well as the ability to summon it at will. most notably how he tends to impale people and then leave it behind, yet he has it later.

You see, This is all training in the trainingsbase for SOLDIERS in the Shinra building. Zack thinks it is the real Seph....I guess, but you can see Angeal runs to Zack to stop the fake Sephy and abord the mission, conclusion: This is just a training room where Angeal trains his pupil Zack.....
