  • I love this song - makes me happy all the time :)

  • It's already on DVD...from Criterion.

  • Man, Miriam is not celebrated enough. Great comedic timing.

  • I've had this song in my head for the past 3 months. It's charming, fun, and sexy! I love pre-Code films

  • The Hollywood actresses back in those days actually had to have talent. They could all sing and dance, as well as act. They were talented and they were class acts all the way around. The so-called stars today are pathetic, anorexic pieces of trash in most cases. Oh, who had a rich daddy or uncle in the movie producing business.

  • I love Claudette Colbert She is so awesome. I actually just bought a few of her movies on a movie website. I bought them on lovingtheclassics

    just google it

I have ordered movies from this place many times. Great for these public domain films

  • What a lovely scene of two girlfriends.

  • I could not get this wierd song out of my head the other day , and it took a while to remember what movie it came from As Usual Colbert got her was, she was phobic about being photographed from the left, true watch any film she ever did and all you see is Colbert from the left, if you do see the right it is carefully draped with a hat a veil or her hair...

  • The crying and laughing part is hysterical.

  • isn't it a great? glad you liked it, knew you would. xxx

  • What a gem!!

  • I see her in a new light so to speak...what a beauty....thanks fine post

  • Claudette looks like Betty Boop a bit, while Miriam has some features in common with another actress from the south of the States, Joanne Woodward.

  • omg she does look like Betty BOOP! Sounds like her too!

  • haha that song's great! lol, this vid makes me happy :-)

  • Two of my favourite actresses - love 'em both. Thanks for posting!

  • The Smiling Lieutenant is one of Ernst Lubitsch's early musicals, a masterpiece now available on DVD at last. Don't miss it! This is one of the great scenes and songs from it.

  • Double Slap Alert 2.06

  • Insane.

  • If you watch The Story of Temple Drake, you'll see that Miriam DID jazz up her lingerie...
