He is KHIZA, a British based Pakistani composer/Musician with almost have a dozen albums to his credit, he's known there but not much in Pak. He has collaborated with many Arabic and Indian artists and this song 'Mehr ma' is the result of one such collaboration between him and Hadiqa otherwise, you wouldn't be listening to it :)

Well Hadiqa's word mer maa is derived from urdu word Mehram, which means "Closely related i.e beloved".

As you might be aware of the fact, there are so many words of Urdu, being used in local language with localised dialect. I hope you understand the word now. Enjoy the song with clear meanings now.

Afzaal bhai in Punjabi Mehr -ma Dilaan diyaa mean "mere dil par mehrbani karnay walay"

Punjabi is much older than Urdu. it is derived from Sanskrit whereas Urdu base from Persian. In Urdu Mehram (antonym Ghair Mehram). Mehram mean relative which you have blood relation e.g. brother, sister, mother, father.

These Punjabi songs are made bit easier to understand because they want to target all the audience of Pakistan that is why pushto and Sindhi failed attract all the audience of Pakistan

If your mother tongue is not punjabi then you should go to villages of Punjab to listen punjabi it would be quite different and difficult to understand for you.

There are 30 dialects of Punjabi language spoken across Punjab but only native speakers can recognize difference between these dialects :)
