  • Imperium Galactica 1 + Nexus(IG3)= the most awesom space strategy :)

    just a dream :(

  • @vajasman What the hell happened to Digital Reality anyway?

  • @Mazryonh I think they have new management, and they make just action and driving game, but these are very stupid and boring games

  • @vajasman You could say the same for Most Wanted Entertainment (the heirs to Mithis Entertainment, the devs for Nexus), but unlike Digital Reality, MWE kept their dreams true and used them to fund the sequel to Nexus. I hope they get all the support they need.

And yes, an RTS version of Nexus with planetary ship production but retaining the same tactical combat would be awesome.

  • Support Nexus 2

  • is this game, a good simulator?

  • It's an EXCELLENT simulator of space battles using Newtonian physics.

  • Errrrrr. No. It's a fun game but it isn't a simulator by ANY means.

  • By simulator, do you mean "more realistic"?

  • IG2 was way better.. the combat system was the only downside.

  • i asure you VERY hard game espicially the mission before the last that i'm on... damn (whont spiol name of enemy in case of)

  • Dude, I know what you mean, but there's a strategy that will make you laugh at this mission.

Remember, the enemy will target the support ship, as that's your central ship, and any other battleships around you. So, how to get rid of all those missile cruisers?

  • Simple. Attack them with fighters, many, many fighters. I would recommend assigning the fighters to the Angelwing in the beginning of the mission, as this would allow you to come up from behind the missile cruisers (trust me, you have to do this!). Hint: the missile cruisers don't have flaks! :)

    Hope this helps.

  • Nexus is overblown. The weapons are rediculously unbalanced and infuriatingly powerful or weak at times which is all the more annoying. Nexus was supposed to be what Ground Control was to Command & Conquer. Unlike Ground Control, it failed miserably. There never will be a Nexus 2.

  • Sure, I had trouble with the AI throwing EMP bombs at my ships all the time in the last few missions, but what do you mean by unbalanced? Mind giving some more concrete examples?

  • In the mission where you're defending the Mammoth convoys, I have one heavy laser and two thornbird light lasers and two silver cannons. By the time I have the shields of the first Raptor ship down and Im pummelling it's hull, one of the transports is dead and about to jump out. Another instance later on in the game, this was from a good while ago so I don't remember the exact name, you're facing four or five Grog ships, >>

  • Then another two or three charge in. The anti-hield weapons don't strike hard enough and the enemy's ships repair much too fast to make any short few seconds of damage you've inflicted useless. You can spend ages trying to knock out a ship's subsystems of shields with little to no effect.

  • You can destroy enemy's subsystems much more easily by disabling their main and combat/deflection engines first, so they can't maneuver their devices away as easily.

You need at least three shell type weapons to make a dent in shields, or focus fire your fleet to bring down their shields quickly.

Above all, don't be afraid to tinker around in the lab to find what works.

  • sujad, just because you can't figure the game out doesn't mean it fails miserably. dude, i suck at video games and this game was easy to figure out. plus it's freakin' awesome.

  • I would agree. There's been a lot of criticism for this game of "you watch more than you play" but this game actually requires more attention than most think.

  • I have the game and it's absolutely awesome. Nothing on the market like it, and its demands for tactics and strategy blows Homeworld 2 out of the water! I recommend any fan of Space Combat RTS games get it.

  • i don't agree... perhaps this game was develoved a little bit later that's why it got good graphics... however, as to the strategic details and story plot, it falls far behind Homeworld... it was Game of the Year and was far ahead of its time then

  • This game is awsome!! I hope they make Nexus 2!

  • awesome game, but messy when u got lots of ships
