@Imhornydadcomeinside yes but there is also another thing you are failing to consider, Arya also has a duty to the dragon riders so they will meet on very rare occasions, and also elven rulers don't stay in power for life...
that doesn't necessarily mean that she can leave to go to him but they may see each other more often after that,
also people think of the mirrors he will use to talk to Nasuada and Roran.
It says in the author's note that he's not leaving Alagaesia just yet. He said it might be the conclusion of this series, but he wasn't done yet. It might be a couple of years, but I'm hoping for a sequel or something of the sort :)

Yeah I really don't like stories which leave it up to your imagination. Humans think the worst of things so in that ending Eragon and Arya don't end up together and happy D:

I think maybe he might write "Jeod's" book and the recount will continue from where it left off. But yeah who knows!

I doubt there will be regular visits but maybe one day she'll retire as a queen and go live with Eragon and I think she'd have to go check on Eragon sometimes to see how everything is going with the training cos she's a rider too and I doubt mirrors will suffice (I mean Arya is all about travel- can you imagine her sitting in Ellesmera her whole life? Yeah, no.).
@missash70 I think Eragon also will return to Alagaësia sometimes, because in eragons guide to alagaësia he is trying to find a shadow that stalks the land. EGTA is a follow up after Galbatorix defeat.

I just finished Inheritance this evening. I cannot imagine a better ending for this awe-inspiring series. Hard to believe that there's not going to be another. :S
@Douggy3 No, they were never meant to be, they are never going to be a couple, I am sorry, but sometimes you must accet things and jsut go on, like Eragon and Arya did.

@Rachalkasy Totally agree Oh yeah and did u know that in this guys theory, the green dragon already hatched for Arya but she is hiding it? It does make sense since she was trained by Oromis and has powers beyond regular elves (and she has gewwn magic)
