That means that He can make something so heavy that even He cannot lift it, which means there are limits to what He can lift. But if He can lift anything, then nothing so heavy that He cannot lift it can exist, even if He makes it, which means there are limits to what He can make. The bible says several times that there is no "generational punishment" (e.g., Ezekiel 18:20, but many others). It is immoral and inaccurate to say that children with horrific disease are being punished for something 'Adam' did (supposedly) many thousands of years ago.
The moral compass in your gut should confirm this. For example, in our society we don't legally punish children for things their parents did. why would god, who is supposedly more moral than humans, violate this obvious truth?

If it is ultimately god's decision to take a child's life from this earth, why would he allow them to linger on in tremendous suffering? Why would he not take them painlessly and quickly? Why would he allow us to sometimes cure these babies if the decision is ultimately his? You might be surprised to hear that the common interpretation of Genesis 3 is not the only one taken by Christians. There is another one which makes a lot more sense. The common one is a misinterpretation. There is a very big picture that takes time to explain. As to why God allows prolonged suffering here on earth; it's NOT 'punishment' for Adam's "sin." But if He can lift anything, then nothing so heavy that He cannot lift it can exist, even if He makes it, which means there are limits to what He can make. @lazyperfectionist1 An important point here is that starting with the first chapter of the bible god spends time to make the earth, a day, and time to make the stars the sun and moon, also a day. To the people at the time the earth looked big and the stars looked small and not that hard to make.
We know now that the stars are bigger than planets.
So why does he spend the same amount of time on ALL the stars and the earth?
Because the people who made up the bible didn't know.

Simply because you can state the idea of an all powerful being beyond everything that can do everything that does not prove the existence of it. It only establishes an idea.
Proving that your idea can, hypothetically, lift something he made to be too heavy for him to lift it, would STILL not have any meaning since the concept is still not shown to actually exist.

I think the Tree of Knowledge story is a "true" metaphor for our transition from being animalistic to being human. Forget the story. What you are rejected out of hand, is the essence of being human.
Catholic Priests spend 7 years at a seminary trying to understand this stuff. I think a lot of oridinary people, be they atheists or christian are bound to get confused without proper education and training in Theology.

The bible says several times that there is no "generational punishment" (e.g., Ezekiel 18:20, but many others). It is immoral and inaccurate to say that children with horrific disease are being punished for something 'Adam' did (supposedly) many thousands of years ago.
The moral compass in your gut should confirm this. For example, in our society we don't legally punish children for things their parents did. why would god, who is supposedly more moral than humans, violate this obvious truth?

If it is ultimately god's decision to take a child's life from this earth, why would he allow them to linger on in tremendous suffering? Why would he not take them painlessly and quickly? Why would he allow us to sometimes cure these babies if the decision is ultimately his? I will not accept that a baby has to suffer for the sins of some ancient biblical figure, especially since (supposedly) Jesus died to atone for and save mankind from the "original sin."

You might be surprised to hear that the common interpretation of Genesis 3 is not the only one taken by Christians. There is another one which makes a lot more sense. The common one is a misinterpretation. There is a very big picture that takes time to explain. As to why God allows prolonged suffering here on earth; it's NOT 'punishment' for Adam's "sin." That is ludicrous.
Jesus and his disciples suffered horribly and God allowed it. But it's nothing compared to heaven.

in the garden of eden it was perfect. no meat was never eaten and animals were at peace with each other and with humans until they sinned. God strike the earth with a curse and everything was changed for ever. suffering is a part of life, for human and animals alike. Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins and because of Sin that was the price that must have been paid.... suffering is something life will always have to face because of Sin, (according to the bible of course).

No, "Jesus" never lived for real, there's a broad concensus on that now. But it is true. my Daughter committed suicide after she went to Calvery church and accepted Christ. But Calvery Church does not do a thorough job of teaching scripture and there is no meat of faith in thier doctrine since they leave out much scriptural truth. So when Satan tormented her she crumbled. She didn't have the word and she was greatly tormented by her step father and her mother. Her mother cursed her dailly and her step father raped her. So she escaped to death.

I agree and believe the Bible and submit to it.
These verses are excellent and should be obeyed by street preachers.
I trust God to give me discernment to know when to stop a witness. Sometimes I continue witnessing so that the other people watching can hear the Gospel.
I believe God will letus know when to top, we just need to be careful not to let our pride cause us to fall into self-will.

josephus' account has been shown to be a fabrication. Why is it that theologians know this but they have failed to pass this information to the sheep...i mean flock. Kudos to the atheists. That is the way to handle busy body christians who want to stop you on the street and pass on their fabricated truths. Good opportunity for me to tell them what to do with it

nope hasnt een shown to be a fabrication, there is speculation on both sides. But it is very old written at the time of Jesus, or a bit after his death.

yes it has been shown to be a fabrication according to christian theologists. Also NOTHING about jesus was written in his lifetime. Josephus was way after his death.

no it has not shown to be a fabrication, look it up and you will see that they have suspicions but its not a fact, Josephus was not too far after his death, he simply documented what happend, and the Old testament proves Jesus which is written several hundreds even thousands of years before him.

Not only things he has to do, but read the book of prophet Daniel, you will find even exactly time when the Messiah would appear, his death and his resurrection.

Actually the story of Jesus the Anointed One (the Christ) is nothing like the Hebrew messianic prophecy. I don't remember all the details, but the Hebrew messiah is supposed to come in ADULT form, adorned like a king, riding a white horse (wielding a sword if I'm not mistaken).
