  • Heavens to Murgatroid! THANKS for posting this powerful trailer for us to enjoy. I can remember when "American Film Theater" productions were shown at a local theater back in the mid-70's. One of Frederic March's last performances; came towards the end of not only his career but Robert Ryans; but obviously near the beginning of Jeff Bridges'. Wonderful stuff!!!

  • "A great movie of a great play." Having seen it twice after reading the play many times, I agree:). Marvin doesn't quite bring the otherworldly quality to Hickey that Robards did in the 1960 version, but he's still excellent. So are, geez, Bridges, Ryan, Dillman, Moses Gunn, Sorrell Booke and the great Fredric March. Granted, it IS very long, even after Frankenheimer made some cuts (his direction, by the way, is also very good). But it is well worth watching entire.

  • I haven't seen this, hoping someone would post on YouTube.

Looks like Robert Ryan steals the show.

  • I love this movie, and even though its about 4 hours long in its uncut version, its hypnotic throughout. The Kino DVD release is very good and worth tracking down.

  • Have a copy of this movie. Note the length of the scenes and dialogue compared with any recent movie. Excellent.
