  • so used to seeing redsox hats that i didnt really care

  • wat an idiot he is?!!

  • Comment removed

  • His accent and the poor sound recording makes it difficult to understand what he is saying. He said as he was spinning the globe that " these two forces are centrifugal forces, okay?" Actually they are not centrifugal forces. They are, instead, coriolis forces. Laymen confuse these two fictitious forces when dealing with a rotating frame of reference. The comment by pauloxaxb is correct. These coriolis forces cause cyclones to spin in opposite directions north or south of the equator.

  • @jadenephrite his accent sounds fun.

  • 1 advise, if you dont speak english very well at least talk slower.

  • isnt that a child hood myth?

  • what a bunch of crap

  • The Coriolis effect is so weak that it would not cause any bearing on the rotation of draining water in your bathroom. The main factors in the direction of the swirl is the design of toilet/sink etc.

  • rigth! it effects with ~10^-4 1/s! you can only see it on weather-phenomens... water drains much too fast for the coriolisforce.

  • All is wrong here. Total BS for tourists to pay a few bucks !

The spinning of the globe seems to have too much mesmerizing effect.

Seriously, the only thing that could have been remarkable in the story is to show a Foucault pendulum there perhaps. Problem : it is not so much fun for tourists to see something oscillate and not turn... Go back to Paris then ... ;)

  • actually, you got it wrong, in the north hemisphere, foces are created clockwise, not counter clockwise

  • The pattern of flow is called a cyclone. In the Northern Hemisphere the direction of movement around a low-pressure area is counterclockwise. In the Southern Hemisphere, the direction of movement is clockwise because the rotational dynamics is a mirror image there

  • if ur doing a video on physics get the facts

    right
