  • Dr. Orloff, I love your talks about HSP etc. In the other videos you look so natural and great. What did the make-up artist think of, OMG why did you agree to this horrible artificial look. Anyway the context is more important than the surface. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

  • wow thank , now i feel normal.

  • This is scary, it's all me..

  • i saw your episode on borderllines. and was extremely disappointed that i could not comment there. so i found another spot that i could. i am an empath among other things. I am also borderline. Aside from times of severe stress it is under control. i am learning to see in grays. It is a real shame that you classify all of us with bpd in the same catagory though. It is no wonder that there are so few available to help with those of us with bpd. i believe your vid is partially the cause.

  • @broncotwerp ditto on that!

  • Why aren't there videos on the other emotional types? They all seem to be about empaths...

  • @acidstars9 Because many people especially women like to see themselves as empaths as if this is a good thing. It's not just empaths that attract narcissists but all sorts of people. Labelling yourself as an empath is just an excuse for naivety and perfectionism.

  • @lemsip How is it not a good thing? And what does being an empath have to do with naivety and perfectionism? I don't see how it has anything to do with that. What do you have against empaths anyway?

  • @acidstars9 No mention of the other personality types; gusher, rock (strong and silent type) and thinker/intellectual type. It's OK to be moderately empath but not extreme otherwise you become a highly sensitive person and it restricts your lifestyle a bit.

  • Excellent!

  • Thank you for sharing your videos, I find them very helpful.

  • Thank you for your videos. My mom's a narcissist and I'm an emotional Empath. It's been very hard for me to deal with my personal and family issues, but thanks to you I'm on my way to feeling better.

  • Amazing , somebody understands. Thank you for your work.

  • Is not easy to be empath is a horrible experience, I'm like magnet to narcissist and psychic vampires. These people can smell you from miles.

  • @youfilha Meditation helped me alot for two reasons. Meditation is a technique used to clear out exes thought and emotional build up. teaches me to hold up better around unwanted interaction. And then after i clear out all the bs, things are more calm and approachable. thoughts of peace, the feeling of content and forgiveness are releaving healthy for the mind and the spirit . (not necesarilly religious just a personal centering technich for well needed relaxation and positive emotion.:)

  • does anybody know a spiritual leader who can talk about this?

  • @holyvalentine Do you know what a light worker is? A light worker is someone who works to purify the earth from harmful negative energies. light workers are spiritual but worships no God or gods (not to say he doesnt believe in them.) because he sees the connection in their external reality, not within interacting with it. The key lies within themselves. There are many light workers on our planet today who work to ensure that humanity once again becomes aware of their conscious influence.

  • I can relate to everything EXCEPT the compassion bit...I couldn't care less about people's problems...I actually run away from them...They bother me , tire me and scare me...So I'm a non-compassionate empath (just kiddin')

  • Thank you for sharing this video! After 38 years I can finally 'name' my over-sensitivity and better understand why I need my 'alone' time in order to function properly. Great video!!! Looking forward to reading your books.

  • At last someone who understands! Just ran out of a seminar inside a very small room location with 400 other people!! Total overload! I wish I could just shut off my psychic hyper sensitivity to everyone's energy around me. It is difficult when friends/business partners refuse to understand the pain I have at certain times. More videos please on this subject. Thank you.

  • Dr. Orloff, I thank you dearly for this video. At last I can have a name for it. I mostly enjoyed the de-stigmatization of the emotional empath as someone that can be useful and valuable instead of weak or stupid. I also extremelly enjoyed the comments about the really strong smelling ability and the time to be alone for de-compression.All so true!Wish I could find you in FB and ask you a couple of things(or just say NO, ha ha!)

  • Her definition of emotional empath sounds almost exactly like that of the Highly Sensitive Person.

  • Exceptional!! Thank you my dear!!!

  • Very good explanation about empaths, their inner positive qualities and advice how to avoid negative energy . Everyone should apply these insights in daily life.

With wisdom and compassion (¯`♥´¯) .♥.•*¨`*•♫.•´*.¸.•´♥

  • Dr. Orloff! You are great! You just told my biography and dessicated my personality!

Now, what do I do with it? It is a lot of work! Its scary! I have to check out all of the people off my life and may be, not so gently! May be, by becoming myself a bit a drama-queen! LOL!

  • crying doesn't mean that you are weak be it men or women..

  • You sense what's going on in the world. How special. Does that mean you should tell other people they are special and give them horrible arm chair advice so you can sell books? That's your right; the sad part is that people are gullible enough to buy into this new age magician's act, and make your money. For being so shy and afraid you sure know how to stand in front of people and peddle your armchair ideas.Your solutions to anxiety are sophomoric.

  • @TheDogRibs bitter, party of one?

  • I'm not really emotional myself but other people being off the charts builds up stress in me. When I'm alone things are so much better.

  • Very encouraging

Nice to hear, good to know

  • you remind me of Deanna Troi from Star Trek ... intuitive, psychic, empath.

  • Hi Judith,

I realized that i was an empath about 4 years ago...it took awhile for me to understand and respect my own needs as in wanting time for myself etc....i also made a youtube video on being an empath to spread the word...the responce has been wonderful and their eyes are open ...thank you my fellow empath...sending warm reiki love xoxox

  • Great video Dr. Orloff! Thanks for sharing!

  • I think this is a woman thing...

  • But the guy in the audience had tears...

  • He is obviously a very feminised man. This does not appeal to the classic masculine at all!!

show this to most traditional men, they would be turned off in the first 10 seconds

  • NO is a complete sentence! love it! My online version of that statement is CLICK DELETE! Thank you for your work!

  • Another excellent segment from Emotional Freedom, thank you Dr. Orloff.

  • I love your beautiful hearts work

    I am also a Empath

  • Thanks so much, Dr. Orloff! Keep your work coming -- I'm an empath, too, and a teacher, and I'm so inspired by your insights -- brilliant; by your entrepreneurial accomplishments; and, by your abilities as a teacher of these most important personal skills!!! In loving support, R

  • yes. My wife is an emotional empath and it is a beautiful gift. She does get fatigued in crowds, but she is a talker. I think she talks to relieve stress.Good thing I am a listner.

  • Some how I missed emotional empath when studying the DSM. I would love to read the research on this. I'm not sure how one could empiraclly study absorbing other people's emotions.

  • You got my number, Judith! Just like my ADD, being so much the empath is a blessing & a curse. My sensitivity enables my ability to tune in & relate to others in a very "knowing" way, thus most people sense me as being both aware of their story, as well as one they can trust. It also fuels the "connection" my music (& massaging) makes. However, it is also isolating, as being out in crowds (unless I"m in front of them), can be very stressful & sometimes just "too much".... Thanks for your info.

  • calm and centered or balanced is essential~ And it might help if you live with someone that isn't. ha. if your partner is the opposite, this keeps you focused on the here & now, check in on yourself once in awhile~ Thanks Judith for keeping in touch.

    peace & love

  • Thank you for your answer. I was raised raised in a confusing and often dangerous environment & I think I learned to "be tuned into" others in order to try and "read" what was going on, peoples moods etc.-It has become hard for me to tell the difference between my feeings and others feelings-what i want VS what they want-am i actually vibing on their energies or am i just codependant? maybe a little of both? I am trying to figure out how to heal but not sure what i am dealing with.

  • Great post Judith. I'm sooo deffinately an emotional Empath. Saved to favs so i can listen to your advice again :-)

Im one huge sponge!!! wish i wasn't!

  • whats the difference between an emotional empath and a codependent?? they sound the same!!

  • @patriciamalone1 empaths are wired in a way to be an emotional sponge. codependents don't necessarily have this; rather they are fixated on others at the detriment of themselves See Emotional Freedom, lotz on this topic!

  • Great video, thank you again!

  • That explains my carb addiction.
