God, such a great, great, great album. I actually heard this about a month ago off of my dad's original copy and it just blew me away. 154 is equally and yet entirely differently a work of genius.
I found you because I was looking to sample a bit of the new Swans album. I've looked at about 5 of your videos now; a bit sidetracked. I enjoy reading and writing reviews, but I certainly question that. Who needs a review? We can just sample the music online. Still, waxing wax is great fun. I guess youtube video hasn't killed the review star. Yeah, Pink Flag is a definite ten. On to hear a bit off the new Swans...
despite being a huge fan of punk, i had never even heard of Wire until one of the teachers at my high school told me about them. how lame is that??!! lol
You have a way with words, Anthony! I've never listened to anything by Wire, though I've been aware of them for a long time now, but your review certainly made me want to hear this record at last so it's on my wishlist now.
It will be great to have your take on some of your fav albums over the years, I totally support this idea.
Thanks for a great channel, I'm so glad to have found it! ^^/
just found you and your reviews. enjoying them very much; and learning a lot of the music you like.
a band that you should review for the sake of a bit of modern exposure that you should know, and if not SHOULD HEAR! is Nomeansno. they have many of the qualities im seeing in your preferences. and they are fucking amazing.
A good starting place for new listeners is the album WRONG.
I've never gotten into NMN, but then again I've never heard the album WRONG. Dunno if I was just listening to the bad stuff. I'll try to hit it up, and thanks for watching, dude. :-)
This is great, more postpunk stuff to the people! And I'm really hoping for a review of the fantastic track from The Radio Dept. their single "Heaven's on Fire". prettyplz?
Awesome man, I love the idea of you reviewing more old stuff. I'm going to check out this LP as soon as possible, really got my attention. Also, I was like "woah, no 2-3 minute talking about other stuff before the actual review?" :P
This is my thoughts that happen in 1977. Rock music became too big for its own good. Something had to make it come crashing down. Punk bands had to strip it down and basically ruin (Ruin in a good way) and distort the sound. A year later, bands like Wire and Joy Division picked up the pieces and started to re-invent music.
pink flag is great but why are you reviewing an album that's over 30 years old? is this a new thing you're doing? if so........ gang of four entertainment! please.....
Dude! Thanks for talking about Wire! Without Pink Flag there would be no Minor Threat! How bands have covered 12UX? (haha you just said that) this is a statement of this kind of music being against the grain!
@FlamencoGod Not only that I have to say that my disappointment level in you has dropped and my respect level of you has risen, because the first 10 I've seen you give anything is truly deserved, you didn't waste it on some really stupid shit.
Sorry to flood the comments with a second comment, but I would like to add that I'm really refreshed by this review. It's nice to see you talk about a record that you love, instead of a brand new one. A nice little change
