Never "loved" insects myself, but do remember as a kid, being fascinated by them. I had a paralizing fear of spiders, but used to sit for hours watching them build their websites... especially the Orb Weavers. Once they built it I'd go catch me a bug of some sort, stun it a little & toss it in the web to watch the final outcome. I kept catching bigger bugs just to see how valiant the spider was. As long as the web held, the spider would win. Even wasps were eventual victims. Enjoyed your video!
I too loved to watch spiders in the corner of the basement and do own a Orb Weaver myself. Spiders are so important in the balance of nature. thanks for the comment.
Happy Fathers day to you too!! Wow !! If i seen a moth that big i would run:) My daughter is a big bug fan, she is is always capturing something and analyzing it.
not a problem, as you can see the video "is not a best seller" LOL, i do love collecting "bugs" n' observing them in nature. Hope you have a very good summer.
I just followed the link on Jill Hanner's Twitter to this video. Those are amazing insects. I thought that one on the left (my left) is a butterfly, but you said it called an Atlas moth. Is that a butterfly or not?
Do you want to see my ants video called Metropolis? It's the URL ending on v=OUVHXequb8A (or the cockchafer on kf0cRHvu7rw)
M<y collection has some beauties but in my community, north of NYC we don't have too many species. We do have alot of deer, wild turkeys, occassional fox and Eagles and hawks, so I am very greatfull.
that's okay! just good to see your back with a youtube bug that has affected big time in the last year! its more than cable! happy father's day to you..even if your not my dad! lol
I was very impressed the first time I saw a Phylliidae. However, I would not eat salad for a few months thereafter.
