Why is this show called "Ever Decreasing Circles"....anybody know why? because I find the name very unusual and not making any sense. I understand the picture at the start showing the circles decreasing because of the "reverse" button being used, but what's it mean? Anything?
@karilwyn to quote numpty1972, it means to follow the same routine over and over again whilst getting worse results each time. Taken from the expression, 'to go round in circles'.
@everdecreasingcircs Brilliant...your response reminds me of an old saying. This quote is usually attributed to Einstein ... " The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results ". This is the quintessential story of my life. I love this show, thank you a million times over for posting it. I really identify with the characters and I was remarking to a friend on how I love the close knit nucleus of the five characters-not too broad, stays focused.
This is areally important episode of EDC actually. That little descrtiption Ann gives of why she and Martin are together really puts the whole show into perspective. Its a very nice scene (9.55).
"Can't let the dust build up"....Priceless.
