Luongo did not show us that he can play well on the road and personally, I blame him for the loss of the Stanley Cup. Tim Thomas on the other hand, posted outstanding numbers at home and on the road and he very well deserves his Vezina trophy.

Anyway, is there a reason the bottom strap on the pads is leather while the others are nylon clip style? Is it just to avoid a big buckle at the achiles tendon, or is it supposed to strap through some loop behind the skates or something? Thanks.

I play goalie and the leather is more durable, is easier to adjust and with the straps you have nylon hanging off when you tighten it

umm that chest protector is a Vaughn Epic 8800...goes for about $450 and is still a top of the line model. And the pads are Smith 5000, which are the 2nd latest Smith model and the newest when the video was produced. The helmets not pro level but he's just doing a demonstration. laces are the best, flex toe was made young goalies that don't know how to tie laces yet. IE for their parents

I have used them for awhile and they are a hell of alot better then laces. Obviously you dont know anything about the flextoe. Its acts the same way laces do, but its better and faster. I have spending like 5 min putting on my leg pads, with the flextoe it cuts the time in half for each leg. Before you start talking shit about a product how about you try it

I think the helmet is alright, designs are great, but some just go overboard. This is an ok video, but they don't give any real good advice. The toe ties are the best information. They should really cover how tight straps should be, as well as skates. I do wish I saw this when I started, i had no idea about toe ties when I started.
