  • Take care of that BABY piano, They grow up so fast..... :')

  • the new one has a brighter tone probly because of the newer strings

  • what size is the rug the piano is placed on?

  • Whats the song being played? and by which Artist ?

  • that song sucks ass

  • The kimball sounds much better

  • who cares?

  • That was fun. And well done

  • That was fun.

  • i had a welmar made by bluthner 1930s for £185 baby grands are no better than good uprights though

  • what song are you palying on the piano i like it and the first piano sounds moore realistic oulder i like the sound of it the new one sounds yeah newer XD

  • Teehee, First one and Second one sound no different

  • I just got a baby grand piano myself, I love it!!! But, I've tried to find the sheet music for the song you are play, with no luck... do you know who the composer is to Song for Ireland???? Thanks!

  • thank you for the video. good production value. BUT!!! I can't believe you didn't take the time to vacuum the rug and floor while the piano was gone. Perhaps a little OCD here. again thanks for sharing. beautiful music.

  • great vid

  • The old one is way better in my opinion. A pearl river? Isn't that one of those cheap Chinese pianos?

    Good playing

  • Hi, NEVER tip a grand piano on the lyre!!! Guaranteed to break glue joints (at the least!)!

  • no wait- i made a mistake.. i have been listening to both of them and they are both nice but actually the second one is slightly nicer sounding..

  • the first one for sure..

  • Thanks for the vid - very instructional! We're moving our new baby this weekend, first baby we've moved and first that we've owned ... very excited, have moved lots of other pianos ... just not babys

  • I' m afraid your previous piano was better. Pearl River has a rather too much of a crispy sound while Kimball was better balanced with pianissimo.

Having said that new generation pianos require less pedal as they sustain already better and probably the black one requires a final tuning.

  • Black is the only color for a grand piano...in my opinion.

  • id have kept the Kimball!! nice playing tho sounds great

  • How much did the Pearl River cost?? And how long did it take for them to set it up??

  • what song were you playing? it sounds beautiful.

  • Thanks. It was "Song for Ireland".

  • what fun. ta for posting this. The Pearl River had a lightly better bass, of course and the overall sound was brighter as yamaha/pearl river are renowned for.

Wood or black? All aesthetics anyway. I'm VERY lucky to have a Kawai 6ft3" grand that's black high gloss finish as well as a 9'2" concert grand Chappell that's rosewood. I'd go for rosewood or any other over the black. They're HUGE dust magnets. I keep a duster inside the kawai to save time! LOL

    Ta again for the video!

  • somthing about the mahogany look helps me think

  • What happened to the old one?

  • Well you heard it a few times, but honestly, I think the old Kimball sounded better. I think selling a Kimball for that was sort of a step down. Although the Yamaha is new, so its going to not have problems.

  • What was he playing?

  • New one sounds out of tune and softer. I'm sure it sounds better than the old one now though, because you've probably gotten it tuned, and the hammers will have adjusted.

  • wich song u was playing?

  • i love ur old piano i love wooden baby grands!

  • omg i cant stand a piano in any other color than black, or white

  • well i like grande black pianos wen im doin a relli emotional song but im jus into those old ones with sticky keys :)

  • god sticky keys make me want to kill mslelf

  • lol! well maybe not sticky but i lus like the look of old ones, the new black ones look gd its just they sound too classy and unemotional

  • Well, in a full grand, wood looks just as sweet as the black. but wood on baby grand hurts my eyes

  • but before they didnt used to have black pianos

  • yes, the old one sounded better.

    sorry.

  • it was in tune.

  • hey nice playin. i am just a beginner still in beginner lessons. question. was that brown grand piano electronic????

  • it says in the description that it's a 1940's kimball.

  • I would cry so much to see my old piano go.. But I really want a new piano! Ahhh, I can't decide! You are a very good piano player, would you be so kinda to tell me the length and width of that baby grand? I wanna see if I can squeeze one in my room lol

  • the old one sounds ten times beter imo

  • Geez, I think I would cry my eyes out if I saw my old piano get moved out :( But they are both lovely instruments. I'm planning on getting a new 4'11" baby Yamaha, in polished black. Can't wait :D

  • piano movers dont hang round for long lol

  • I liked the first one...much more natural sounds.

  • i preferred the old one but that's just my taste it had a mellower softer tone. Would be interested to hear the new one once it's tuned though. Nice playing by the way!

  • Great vid, lovely piano, both of them.

  • Those were some very fast piano movers LOL

  • I listend to this several times to make sure what I initially felt was true, and I prefer the sound of the old Kimball to the Pearl River. The Pearl River appears to have a harsher metalic sound in the high end, or I am hearing overtones...but then again the positioning of the microphone might have causes it. In either event, it is up to personal taste. A 6'3 grand or better, however, will beat a baby grands sound any day.

  • Awesomely creative video and well edited.

    WORST JOB EVER... PIANO MOVER!

    BEST JOB EVER... PIANO PLAYER!

  • Pearl river is not made by yamaha.

  • I like the new piano much better. I am not a fan of Kimball pianos.

  • we are moving a baby grand piano soon

ours will cost 250 to move?

    How much did yours cost

  • We just moved it across town, so it was only $60-$90.

  • But moving a piano always out-tune it... Why not tune the new piano?

  • the old one sounded better

  • the older one sounded better

  • Sorry to see they moved your new piano in by tipping it on the lyre. They should NEVER do that! Also, Pearl River pianos are not made by Yamaha, although some Yamaha pianos are made at the Pearl River factory, mostly for sale in Japan.

  • beautiful piano...im looking into baby grands my self cuz they r such a nice addition to a home and i love playing...hey, would u by any chance know wat a piano like urs would go for?

  • Hi there. You can find a used one like I used to have for about $1500. Or you could spend anywhere between $5k and $50k depending on the size and quality. My newer one was used by a University and was about $6k.

  • thx a bunch! happy playing with urs...

  • At 1500 you are ASKING for trouble.

5500 is a good minimum benchmark for a grand.

  • Yeah, seems right. I'm looking into a brand new baby Yamaha, 4'11" at $10,000. Honestly, with a 10% down payment and a low interest rate, monthly payments are very affordable.

  • I'd take the old Kimball anyday....

  • wat is the name of that song

  • TUNE IT!!!

  • wow!! i wish i had a baby grand but from this point of view it looks like uhh... driving on the highway and seeing a frontal part of a semi and not the backpart kinda makes you want to chuckle.

  • That was cool, anyone notice that if you pause it at 42 secs it looks like a ghost is sitting at the piano.

  • Hahaha, yeah it does. How do figured that out I have no idea, but that is true.

  • how much did it cost u for the new yamaha baby piano?

  • Nice video! I enjoyed it very much...boy have to tune your new piano...

  • umm, I didnt get the part where you put up that katchaturian song

  • I have a 1936 Baldwin Baby G Its better than new

  • lol that was pretty clever

  • ur new one was definitely sharper, nice piano.

i'm still saving up for my dream baby grand.

  • Am I the only piano mover whom wraps the piano and ties on the shoe prior to removing the legs, and NEVER EVER EVER EVER lower the pianos with the pedals on first as it can meess up the pedal system! Also it makes lowering the piano onto two legs easier! I have been dealing with and moving pianos fo 15 years and worked at Steinways!

  • whats that piece called?

  • That is the intro to "Song for Ireland."

  • Beautiful piano, I wish I could have bought your old one. :)

  • Now get it tuned, sir and it'll be the BEST!

Thanks for playing and showing the difference.

    tunethatpiano[dot]com
