Karyn, i think you are absolutely right. I'm not a mixed martial artist but preparing for local BJJ tournaments and then regional and national tournaments are worlds apart. The sacrifices, effort, weight cutting, and general preparation was exhausting. I think it's important, as you said, that these guys start here and begin to get familiar with the ins and outs of what it takes to make it in better orgs like UFC.

I think it's important for aspiring fighters to see what it's really like in the early days of an MMA career. Plus, there is an admitted bit of inside humor going on with the towels: the reluctant holder in the plaid shirt is Gilberto Faria, who owns Jiu Jitsu Pro Gear. We all had a lot of laughs at his expense.
