  • fuck the soda tax

  • So the government takes more of the consumers money and try to control him like Pavlos dog on what to eat. So not only does the government take more money, but also wants to control what people should eat in order to stay healthy.

    This is absolutely disgusting

  • Use the money to teach people how to eat and exercise properly.

  • what next, a tax..4 being 2 skinny???..

  • Is that Mariella Frostrup?

  • If my cigarettes are taxed, why can't obese people pay for obvious unhealthy choices!

  • @frostinad if your obese you only affect yourself, as opposed to smoking which can be harmful to others, dont get me wrong, im a smoker myself, and im totally against the cigarette taxes myself, but to tax people because their fat is totally idiotic.. if they want people to stop becoming obese than coporate themselves need to stop making food products that are soo un-healthy for us...

  • obesity is a serious problem but the tax is considering charging a penny more for what the FDA finds to be exesive in sugar, fats, and oils

  • put all fat peple in calorie controlled quarantine

  • another point is, i bet half you people wouldn't even know how to cook real food;/

  • he keeps saying majority aswell, but it's 56% tax

TAx it fair enough, but LOWER the prices on healthy foods.

  • that's not tackling food obesity though, it's just making money out of it.

and what constitutes to food thats taxable?

thing is, if they put that money into more sports centers, more free gyms etc.

THEN STOP that fat kid in school from skipping PE lessons because he's "forgotten his kit" or his mum wrote him a sick note

instead of just pocketing it it would be fine

  • FUCKING FAT PEOPLE! THAAAAAANKS

  • even witht he tax, soda woul dbe cheaper then milk or juice

  • thats communism

  • it's an EATING tax, not a 'fat tax'. If you're running a maintainable level of calories on junk food, you wont get fat. If you overeat healthy food, you'll get fat.

The difference is that junkfood is not as nutritious by and large, and higher calories.

  • and even if they over eat unhealthily at least they will be getting all the nutrients they need

  • Legislation worked in reducing road deaths so it is only right for stopping the obesity epidemic

  • we've got a porker talking about the responsibilities of consumers.

  • I support the fat tax.
