Um got to ask if UNIT needed to modified steel bullets because of the of the Sontarn gas and the Valiant blew away the gas than couldn't they just use regular bullets? The gas prevented copper jacketed rounds from firing because they needed oxygen in order to ignite the gun powder. The Valiant blew the gas away around warehouse's area creating a dome of air. That means there's just regular oxygen in that area. Wouldn't that allow them to just use their plain old bullets?

Does anyone know why the Sontaran at 0:59 has a much darker chest than the others? Is it meant to be some kind of squadron leader/commander, or extra armour? Also, I guess the reason why Earth bullets can affect them is that their armour is designed for space weapons like lasers (Time lord stasers had no effect on them in the Invasion of Time, and I don't think the Rutans use bullets against them). Plus, UNIT at this stage has powerful weapons for against Aliens, the bullets might be advanced.
@TheLegacyofHitchcock Shooting bullets isn't really much more then throwing rocks. Just a LOT of very pointy rocks. Really, REALLY fast. It's brutish, but no armor's immune to it. Daleks vaporize the bullets before they hit the casing, though, so don't try this stunt with them:P

The only difference is that the rounds are jacketed with steel instead of copper; the bullet underneath is still a lead slug.
@DarkTerrorX Guess again. The version of M4 used here has a seven inch barrel (compared to 14.5 inches for a regular and 10 for a Mk.18); you can tell by the shorter handguard and the way the flash-hider is more or less flush with the front sight. The G36C has a nine inch barrel.
@DarkTerrorX Imfdb is having the same problem you guys arre with identifying the rifles that are used. Juding from still pictures it is clear that they aren't M4 Carbines that much is certain. It definitely some AR15 or M16 carbine variation. With the US Army alone there were about eight different M16 Carbine variations in service before standarization of the M4 Carbine.

It has potential, but there's too much power variation. You've got the Daleks, capable of fighting the Time War, and the new Cybermen... well we saw how that turned even with four Daleks.
