  • ANd if he did this shit today he'd be hailed as a pedophile because people are so paranoid.

  • AWW, THAT WAS SO TOUCHING. JUST GOES SHOW THAT WHAT YOU DO IN LIFE DOES INDEED HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE PEOPLE YOU ENCOUNTER AND YOUR FUTURE AS WELL! :)

  • Art Linkletter is shit head :/

  • I was there when that was filmed. Mr. Linkletter was genuinely touched by the affection and reminiscent innocence in the room. Having been on his show in '69 or '70, it was a MUST-DO when the production company did a casting call for any of us who had been on it. THANK YOU for posting this! (I welled-up ... AGAIN!)

  • Wooooooo! that's an amazingly touching ending best one ever man.

  • RAT lol

  • That was great!

  • awwww this is so nice!!!

  • This has me in tears..aaawww!!!

  • I just smiled through the whole thing. I mean, did you see how happy he was at the end? That is so amazing that they did that for him!

  • Memories of a day gone by.... I vaguely remember seeing some of his shows.

  • "Yes, Judge, as a matter of fact, upon this celebration of your retirement, and all of the years you served, every member of the studio audience are ex-cons who you initially put away. Judge, the odds of you getting out of this studio alive are about zero."

  • awe that was so sweet that i teared up! :) i only just heard about him today after seeing his humor book - based on this show - at the bookstore; now i am happily watching old clips :)

  • ووشش عندهم ذا المبزره

  • I got goosebumps and almost teared up! That is soo beautiful

  • They answer so quickly, that it's gotta be rehearsed or prepared in some way.

  • @realisticHomeboy Not so. I have two little brothers and I vividly remember the years when they were between 3 and 8 years old. This sort of thing happened all the time - kid's just think impulsively, without any social or cultural barriers. We forget what that's like as adults, because our thinking is so premeditated and biased, due to a variety of things that are involved with growing up. It's sad in some ways, but that's why I love this show so much. :)

  • What was this video called? This was so sad!! :)

  • This is SO good

  • Oh man :') that was a tear jerker.

  • if you dont smile watching this there is something terribly wrong with you this is amazing

  • @tropicallanterns Bill Cosby's not dead. lmbooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Spell ART: RAT

  • they should have made the ending longer! not enough time to tear up.

  • RIP Mr Linkletter.

  • Beautiful - just beautiful. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • this dude was a pervert everything he had them kids talk about was sex related think about it the media is not going to let little kids say what ever comes to there mind they give these kids a script to read there is alot of subliminal messages in all his shows

  • @keyringer Hey I have thought the same as you a zillion times !! What a terrific dad to have indeed !! I could watch his shows over and over....wish they'd have re-runs on TV, don't you? !! :)

  • @meremoeckel2 they should put his shows on TVLand channel. Wow what a great vid of an awesome show to have the audience be all his former kids!

  • @keyringer Hey I have thought the same as you a zillion times !! What a terrific dad to have indeed !! I could watch his shows over and over....wish they'd have re-runs on TV, don't you? !! :)

  • @keyringer Hey I have thought the same as you a zillion times !! What a terrific dad to have indeed !! I could watch his shows over and over....wish they'd have re-runs on TV, don't you? !! :)

  • @keyringer Not widely known to the public before she died in 1969, 20-year-old Diane Linkletter jumped out of a window of her high-rise apartment to her death in West Hollywood, California.

  • Pass the tissues. You could never do this kind of show now...kids are too media aware.

  • @neongreenmaracas1 Come on now----look at the innocence......not all innocence is lost !! What a shame that you perceive things in this negative way! I pity you......

  • @neongreenmaracas1 What you've said is a reflection of the success of the anti-love propaganda that has permeated this country. Nowadays you can't even touch a kid on the shoulder without being accused of something inappropriate. Kids need love, attention and affection and if they lack this kind of contact they become antisocial and afraid of people and have a hard time relating to others. There are very few pedophiles in the world, and lots of genuinely nice, kind, loving, helpful adults.

  • I first heard of him during the 1970's. In the game of "Life" his name and picture was on the one - hundred thousand dollar bill. Then in the mid 80's I heard him do radio commercials about the Arbor Drugs photo center. Where they make the sound of the wind blowing and he says "You can keep those summer memories all winter long".

  • did he die????

  • @jazzlyzack he died may of this year (2010)

  • @jazzlyzack yeah he died this year.

  • i cryed like a baby

  • Wow, what a kind soul!!

  • Wounderfull thing to do.

  • This guy's great

  • Aww. He was such a great Grandfather figure. So kind and sincere. He is surely missed.

  • when Bill says "They're all yours," I just lost it.

  • this totally made me cry and I had no clue who that guy was until about 15 minutes ago! :)

  • wooooowwww this video is so touching.....Rest in Peace Mr Art Linkletter

  • awwww!! That boy hugging him was the cutest thing ever!!!!

  • @MikalaMusic122 that was a girl! See how he says "Holly..." before? hahahahaha

  • XD LMFAHO

  • :,) this guy is awesome.... long live ART!!! HE DESERVES THIS TRIBUTE!!

  • That was real nice. I remember as a child watching him on TV. I can recall,I didn't know a thing he was saying but somehow he endeared himself to me with his gentle ways, mannerisms, patient nature and soothing voice. Don't forget all the funny faces he made either! I believe the world would be a better place if children grew up in a time where TV shows were for families, and FOR SURE in a world without computers, and video games. I shudder to think about what the future holds in store.

  • damn everybody !

  • what does he do to help your mother?

    he....he makes cocktails... bahahahahahaha

  • spell art...r.a.t. hahahahahaha wow!

  • That brought tears to my eyes, Art is a class act and so deserving of that tribute.

  • That had to be the sweetest thing for Cosby and the producers to fill the entire audience with kids that Art interviewed.

It definitely brought tears to my eyes.

  • @tunapup1 same 2 me

  • omgosh, isnt this the sweetest thing!!! what a wonderful tribute to such a sweet, good man

  • Awww, I really love how when they all got up, Bill Cosby said, "They're all yours."

  • RIP art your in God's hands now

  • How cute was that!!!! omg I woulda been sobbin the whole time!!!

  • I cried :') RIP Art

  • Holly was so cute and sweet!!!

  • Wow, it is such a GIFT to make kids comfortable and be open to an adult. If we could do what he did just for one day, just one day...

  • I was on in August 1966. Still have the LP recording that they gave us after the show.

  • This is so sweet!!! Gotta admit it brought tears to my eyes!!

Bill Cosby did a great job by inviting SO many people whoa ctually were in the show before... as the ENTIRE studio audience... what a beautiful thoughtful way of paying tribute... GOD Bless him... well.. GOD bless all the people in this episode...for putting it up all together!!!

  • This actually brought tears in mye yes... one word: BeaUtiFul!!! <3

  • Makes Howard Storm and other 'shock jocks' appear even more loathsome than they already are, if possible. I know, I know, just change the station. Try raising a child in our cesspool culture and tell me how easy that is to do.

  • Girl at 1:18 is adorable. Well they all are, of course. But the little blond, so cute with that big girl '60'd hairstyle.

  • i just now watched a video about him today and i wish he was still alive

  • this brought tears to my eyes. that was so cool!

  • poop

  • RIP Art Linkletter. you will be forever missed bruhh. :)

  • OMG i love art it sucks that h died in the year of 2010,but bill rocks for bringing the show back man i love dis show :)!!

  • COSBY

  • Beautiful, Bill! Now I have more reason to respect both you and Art than ever! :)

  • That's the sister from that 70's show!

  • that is soooo COOL!!!!!!!!!

  • That was great.

  • Beautiful moment. Art's book, "Kids Say the Darndest Things" was the first book I read as a child, a 35 cent paperback, and I still have it, and have reread it many times since. Thanks for posting this, and thanks to Bill Cosby as well.

  • Oh gosh, I saw this for the first time just now, and then I found out it's 5 days since he passed away! I'm not familiar with the entire show but it sure looks like an amazing episode of American television history!

    RIP.

  • "the keys to his vault where he has his private tapes." That sounds terrible. Private tapes of children!

    RIP Art.

  • @Nogli: Sure. Private tapes of human beings he treated as peers and who happened to be very young. :) Those were different times.

  • I got the chills!! Thank you for posting this! What a great tribute to a great man!

  • That was incredible. Another reminder of good times gone by from a different era.

  • Art is (was) such a talent, that I don't doubt that many of his baby boomer kids from his shows came to this taping to honor such a great man. Art made it look so easy, but even the talented Bill Cosby couldn't quite equal the great Art Linkletter. Art, thanks for your decent entertainment, and Bill, for carrying the torch for our generation. Two decent guys in theis world that's not always so decent anymore.

  • RIP Art

  • Art Linkletter passed away May 26, 2010. What a great man.

  • That was nice, i almost cried.

  • Art was a wonderful man! I loved his show as a child!

  • RIP Link. you made us laugh

  • I remember - I never forgot. Twilight Zone and Art Linkletter and Captain Kangeroo - can it be 1959 again please. 26 May 2010

  • This made me cry! RIP Art!

  • @Momotaro15 me too....*sigh*

  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing Brandon!

  • good, honest, clean fun. Mr. Linkletter will be missed by millions.

  • This one brought tears to my eyes! What a sweet thing to do for Art...Bill is awesome! I miss Bill's shows as well as this one. Both of them are amazing with kids and such good men.

  • It's not Crosby, it's COSBY!!

  • We need more great men like him in television and radio today. In spite of the tragedies in his own life he continued to make us laugh and feel positive about life.

  • Truly a Giant.. We love you R. I. P.

  • If only we had more men like this. I'd also adore more programming like that Mr. Linkletter gave us. I remember watching this show when Mr. Cosby did it. It was just great-and the reactions of Mr. Cosby to thier responses was just hilarious!

Two very good men and I'm so glad the tribute was paid from one for the other. Mr. Cosby tweeted yesterday "thank you Art Linkletter." I think that says it all.

  • aw that made me cry at the end when he said what would u say if the entire studio audience was made up of people u interviewed :')

  • Aww that was so awesome. Bill Cosby is such a great man and I sure will miss Art Linkletter.

  • RIP IN PEACE ART

  • We were just watching his videos today because he died today. He seemed old in this video, seemed old back in the 50's. And yet died in 2010... seems like he lived a pretty decent life... good for him... the power of thinking young makes you young.

Rest well, dear friend--there's a special place for you in Heaven. Happiness, smiles, endaring, perserverance are words I think of when I remember this great man.
