  • fucking win song and so is the movie, fuck whoever tells me love it

  • Anyone ever watched this clip while high?

  • meshuggah is much better at live :/

  • I LIKE JUICE! FILTERED VITAMIN SUBSTANCE!

  • I think this is the version with Tomas Haake on the drums. No DFH stuff.

  • Best meshuggah solo!

  • whats their name mean? im pretty new to them

  • insane

  • its pretty close to "meshugga", which is roughly Yiddish for "crazy", which sums up the music too if you think about it!

  • although, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

  • mm its in hebrew and it means madness.

  • meshuggah is ...dont quote me on the language but hebrew for, for the love, this im sure of though

  • I think this will always be my favorite from them

  • the best

  • Comment removed

  • I just listened to some Viatrophy (seas of storms). I don't like their vocalist at all, but the rest of the band as alright.

You can't really compare the two bands together. I think Meshuggah is heavier because of their deviating patterns. Its not all about who can bang their drum the hardest anymore. double kick for days is fun, but not a staple, or at least it shouldn't be.

  • this must be the less weird music video they've made.

  • pop song

  • These guys would be hella better if there was less vocals/more instrumental and if their songs were longer... 3 min metal songs?... No...

  • this is the video version, the original song from Nithing is 5:08. the whole album is mindblowing, by the way.

  • This song is longer, the label edited it.

  • you have no idea about meshuggah and their songs do you?

  • Meshuggah is arguably the heaviest metal band that you could find.

  • viatrophy are heavyer cheak them out

  • hellsing: no.

  • no, Meshuggah is UNDISPUTEDLY the heavyest band that you can find :)

  • Gojira!!!

  • Definately.

  • This song grooves so awesome!

  • I always tought that Meshuggah were brazilian or somewhere from latino America,oh well my bad

  • these mother fuckers videos are fuckin insane.. goddamn.. haha

  • Meshuggah calls themselves Extreme metal

  • i love groove metal.

    this song kicks ass.

  • hows this for a genre? "Good-Metal"

  • Their obviously R&B....

Who cares what genre you fit them into, you either like them or you don't. I don't care about genres, a band should only be judged by whether or not you like them.

  • Our light induced!

  • no mate.... he likes Juice :)

  • "our light induced", not I like juice.

  • Man, who doesn't?!

  • i thought i was the only one that thought he said that. goood im not the only mental one

  • first metal song i ever really heard about 6+ years ago

  • Tasty Technical Post-Thrash. {':

  • Tasty technical progressive death thrash hardcore math metal :]... get it right dumb bitch

  • Fuck your labels. Meshuggah is Meshuggah.

  • Agreed. Labeling Meshuggah is impossible. A unique blend of everything.

  • technical post-thrash???

hahahahaha. god its insane how many bullshit sub genres people create in metal.

  • Yeh it's stupid.

  • Yeah man, just call it metal.

  • luv this song..makes me wana destroy something

  • @LRchron422 makes me wanna destroy erase and improve something

  • so. fucking. groovy.

  • this groove is so tasty

  • A hardcore swedish death metal band with a Yiddish name... o.k. I'm confused.

  • actually theyre groove metal

  • this album was groove metal. kind of. it's very difficult to apply a specific genre to a band like meshuggah. while they certainly have an incredibly unique sound, the way they display this sound changes from album to album. in Nothing, it was rather groovy, toned down, like this song. however, in Chaosphere, it was the opposite, a complete exercise in brutality.

  • they're experimental, because they expeiment with different genres. i just figured that out now. haha. goes to show you how much more you think outside the box under the influence

  • god awful video lol i much prefer the joke ones. in haake says they look shit on a interview on metal injection. sick band

  • God awful video? You sir are a dick who wouldn't know cool if it walked right up and headbutted you in the tits.

  • amen to that, this video is fucking amazing

  • chill out.

  • This video is pure awesome.

  • Never stray from the common lights!!!!!!!!!

  • Great song.

    Ima cover it.

  • he actually says " our light induced"

but yeah i thought he said that too.

oh someone already commented @.@ hey buddy want some juice

  • Meshuggah is one of my favourite bands! Great musicianship and musical ideas. 5 stars for this one.

  • I find the guitar at 2:25 to be incredibly creepy.

  • wow i like juice too buddy

ps. dont say hey dumbass thats not what he say cuz i know he says our light-induced

  • Haha, I scrolled down and read this at the same time as I heard him say those words xD, I like juice!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG

I LOVE THIS BAND I carry in parallel worlds and archaic FIELD.

  • Amazing song.

But the band need to think of new instrumental melody's and other things.

Most songs are similar in the instrumental view.

Other than that, This band is moshin' awesome.

  • Well, Obzen featured some pretty unique instrumental parts. Actually, all of their albums have brought some melodic variations to the table. Compare DEI to Nothing to Catch 33 to Obzen. You will see it. Who knows what they're gonna do next.

  • I LIKE JUICE

  • He says our light induced

  • this is just my opinion, but i love the instrumentals in heavy metal songs, but the screaming or whatever u call it just makes it unbearable for me to listen to. Does anyone else feel this way or do you like those kind of vocals?

  • i feel the same way

listen to bands like Pantera or Metallica

  • For some bands, yes. But Meshuggah for some reason just hit me like a truck and I was like, "WOW" :P

  • I can fully understand what you're saying. There are some awesome metal bands that have a solid approach to music, but then are ruined by the singer, however I think that since the music is overly aggressive and distorted, the vocalist should also be over exerting his/her vocals to match the mood of the instruments.

  • Felt the same way. Then listened to Periphery. Now my ears are Meshuggah-Ready.

  • I actually enjoy harsh vocals. It's like overdriving an amp, it's expressive. It's part of the art. The vocal style generally matches the lyrical content of the song.

  • Meshuggah is one of the few bands that can actually make this style sound GOOD, as opposed as to just being simply wordless, ear-shattering noise, with no heart or meaning behind it.

  • you're correct.

some people bitch that it's repetitive, but its not. if you try to play their drum beats...its never the same. it's weird.

it's so off beat that its hard for the mind to comprehend how to play it. lol.

  • Yeah, man. It's impossible to call Meshuggah repetitive.

You have to repeat a riff a lot when it's played in a different time signature to the drums, just to get them back in sync so you can switch to the chorus, or the next verse or the solo or whatever. You can't just shift into a different part of the song with all the instruments still not back in sync yet.

I love how Meshuggah can make that work.

  • ya...its "Our light induced...image of truth."

  • They never say "Im riding jews"....

  • if meshuggah were any heavier, they'd collapse into themselves and create a black hole.

  • @LunarEclipse666 that may have already happened

  • never stray...from the common lines.....

  • this song fucking bangs

  • .. "I'm riding jews."

    That's just wrong, honestly.

  • yess....ok....you like jews and you like juice....we know. :D

  • This video is like LSD trip! FUCK YEAAAH!

  • I LIKE JUICE

  • lol! i've always thought the same thing.

    my favorite meshuggah song.

  • Our light-induced image of truth -- filtered blank of its substance/As our eyes won't adhere to intuitive lines / Everything examined. Separated, one thing at a time / The harder we stare the more complete the disintegration.

  • The thinking man's Metal!

  • This is when Meshuggah discovered cartridge tilting.

  • he doesnt say "i like juice", it's "Our light-induced image of truth"

  • its math!!!

  • wow, a section of this video is on Headbanger Ball. It must be on an older album. Cool technical band though. A+

  • It's from Nothing, from 2001.

  • Everyone who keeps saying this just sounds like any other metal fucking pisses me the fuck off!! They have a unique sound, how can you not fucking hear that?! And the sad part is the people saying that are the ones that listen to King Crimson, Uriah Heep, etc.. etc.. progressive bands! What the hell!!! Sorry, had to rant. :)

  • I LIKE JUICE

  • Lol it does sound like that. haha

  • except for disembowelment

  • This guy isn't a singer, he's a shouter....big difference.

  • shouter? rofl fag

  • this is my favorite song by them lol 8 strings guitars rule! also, I LIKE JUICE!

1:12 lol if you didn't know

  • hes a bald guy

  • Hahahahaha, finally, someone else that hears that!

  • In this version of the song they aren't using 8-string guitars.

  • yeah they are, the production quality makes that obvious. The original version was very crappy sounding, when they re-mastered everything, they re-recorded the guitars. This one reflects that

  • I LIKE JEWS!!! LOL

  • Wow, Your waiting for one of us to beat your stupid ass on ze concrete,No?

If you said that to the singer ( His name is Jens Kidman btw) He would rip your spine out and shove it up your ass.

  • wow.......umm i cant believe anyone would say this was a bad song....if anyone ever said that the singer suck big dick and his voice sucks cuz it sounds like a faggot ass duck and that this video is fucking gay....IF ANYONE WOULD SAY ANYTHING LIKE THAT.....ID BEAT THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF THEM.........this band is definitely the opposite of what bad people would say about it......losers

  • cool story, bro!

  • meshuggah are fuckin awsome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • apparently tool became influenced by meshuggah from having them on tour. you can hear it a lot in 10,000 days

  • meshuggah reminds me of tool, only a lot heavier lol. idk maybe its just the music vids

  • Actually, no, I hear it too.

  • they are somewhat like tool. both bands are into the progressive rock/metal genrea. i wouldn't necessarily consider tool to be metal, that is the big difference. Both bands use unusual and sometimes mind shattering time signatures. Its insane what meshuggah can play in sometimes.

  • Tool sucks their like deftones

  • Deftones are the shit!!!

  • this band are in the matrix and neo is the producer

  • come to think of it....i dont get why this song wasnt used for the matrix, like even on the soundtrack album. i mean, it surely would relate to the matrix. well the first one possibly.

  • yeh man. the matrix just came straight into my head when i saw this video. i might make mix of this video with matrix scenes :)

  • Aww fuck thatd be awesome! Itd be like as tho this song WAS the soundtrack song lol Parts of the lobby scene as well would look fuckin AWESOME mixed into this vid lol as well as him dodging the bullets on the roof of the building.

if ya do ill mark it as one of my fav vids and might well put it onto myspace page n bebo n shit.

if ya do it right i mean lol.

hope ya do it! Good luck man! :D

  • first time i ever heard meshuggah was watching this video on music TV about 6 or 7 years ago and i remember being confused both by the music and video haha. now i love it

  • i find myself repeating it over n over n over... the funny part is that it never gets old... NEVER!!! lol

  • idk if its just me but my favorite part of this video is between 1:04 to 1:12... i just think that shit looks so fuckin perfect. lol.... fuckin love meshuggah... lol

  • Second.

  • damnnnnnn this is a badass video

  • Everything is in 4/4!! Band said it in interview. Shut up and listen people.

  • this song fucking rapes

  • This video is a complete mindfuck i love it

  • Never have these lyrics made more sense.

    As do they all.

    And for those who question the time structure of this riff~ its 25/16 strings and bass drum, by the time the riff repeats. {the 16th move quick! by the 2nd guitar stroke, (first is a pulloff) 7/16ths have already gone by}

The 4/4 drum hand movements are the polymetrics being refered to.

Granted this is one of their simpler structured songs AND its cut down to suit the masses, thus its popularity.

These guys approach music very different.

  • PAWA!

  • People, the vast majority of their songs are in 4/4. Ever notice how Thomas always keeps a consistent 4/4 beat on either his china or his stack cymbal? And count whilst listening to New millenium cyanide christ, its in 4/4. Songs like Shed or Glints Collide are in different time signatures.

  • lol they got ya because Glints and Shed are definitely the exact same, time-over-time approach as all their post Chaosphere material.

Glints, easily put is (intro ex)

    a measure of 1/4 (4 16th note duration)

    4 measures of 7/8(56 16ths)

    a measure of 1/4 (4 16ths)

all totals 64 16ths or, 16 quarter notes.

    or, 4 measures of 4/4.

Shed, however is set up differently with the same outcome. Its a pattern, 5/8,5/8,2/4. It starts in the middle, on the 2nd 5/8 count. Cut off 'quik one' @ 4/4 mark (64)

  • the high hats/ cymbols and snares are playing 4/4 but the bass drums and the guitars are playing tottaly different stuff

  • no they're not

  • Meshuggah does a lot of polyrhythm stuff. The guitars could do 11/8 while drums do 4/4 or something. They experiment a lot, really good stuff.

  • It's polymetric not polyrhythmic.

  • both are acceptable.

  • our light-induced , not i like juice xDD

  • rofl i love how people get it mixed up. i can understand why, but it's still funny

  • I like juice! \m/

  • essa banda é foda de mais.

  • Are some of the clips of Kidman in this from his homemade video? Certain parts look like the same clips of him holding the cam pointing at himself as he runs down the hallway and stuff... anyone know (just more distorted)?

  • fucking. catharsis. sexy.

  • This would make an awesome screensaver

  • Fucking love it. I think the video is cut short. Song should be longer.

  • people are commenting on the vid...it`s kind of strange...because the song is a total mindfuck and orgasm within my head... and the vid is...vid is...whatever...

  • This video rocks.

  • and for you v v v ppl trying to comprehend the video?! it is fucking hardcore... it reaches deep within the subconsious pshychoactive mind... enjoy it for what it is.... if you can't relate.

  • indeed. and i do beleive meshuggah has also created a whole new genre of metal that nobody to date can compete with. as original as it gets. watch this video again. i want to see these guys in cencert again.

  • Well, Meshuggah plays alot of measures in 8/4 which IN ESSENCE is the same as 4/4, but technically different. Many harmonic shifts and melodic anchors are established every 8 beats instead of the usual 4.

  • So if a band writes a riff in 4/4 that happens to repeat every 4 bars would it be right to call it 16/4? NO, because that would be really fucking dumb...

How many bars it takes for a riff or idea to repeat DOES NOT change the time signature.

    8/4??? Sort your life out.

  • Thank you... I'm going to quote you. I hope you don't mind :D

  • Nor Problum Mon

  • Watch this while your stoned... I never tryed it but my friends go insane when watching this high.

  • Yeah it's pretty mad while stoned, but if you really wanna go to another dimension drop some acid then check this out..But bare in mind I can't be held accountable if your head explodes

  • grow a pair you tool

  • Yo Tommy, lick my balls and call it ice cream, bitch

  • very weird vid =\

    kick ass song.

  • I don't listen to Meshuggah, but I must say, this video is fucking intense

  • nice music.

I think I like Bleed the best. Drumming is the first reason. I know that song barely got any variety in riffs, but I don't know why but it just makes me addicted.

Even if it's just almost like same thing over and over again, it's just too fucking cool 7 minutes epic.

So I assume that's what good music is.

  • Can't you guys watch one fucking video without arguing about it?

  • the collective youtube userbase needs to just stop trying to grasp music theory. it's so full of fail that it actually makes me want to cry tears of blood.

  • Makes me think of Blind Guardian. They made that song, Blood tears, about music theory and people on Youtube...

  • hahahaha BG and Meshuggah FTW

  • i relly like them but still, don't you think their songs are very similar, i would say all of them, but bleed

  • That would be impossible to say. Have you even heard all their songs?

  • Meshuggah use such amazing lyrical content as well

  • I love this vid!! this is cyber metal, fuck fear factory...

  • fear factory is good too
