I love this film very much. I didn't know that they deal about every fight move before the presentation. Haha Anyway Mickey Rourke showed brilliant acting and deserved the Oscar. Sean Penn was much worse in 'Milk' but I guess academics are obsessed with "gay rights" too much. Marisa Tomei was stunning too

I didnt know this is the guy that played Marv in Sin City... I loved him in that movie. No offense, but this movie looks a bit to American... nothing bad with that, just not our cup of tea I think. Probably might rent it some time when the gf is out.

well.... not a big mickey fan, never found him to be a good actor. the story line, as you tell it, leaves me wondering, since i'm tired of hearing about "past-its" who are trying for a comeback, or "not yet's" and other coming-of-age fliks that act like acne is the grail. I have to hear more, read more about this film before I spend on it. That it's nominated means nothing to me, since the academy has appeared to love shit before....

the wrestler has some great scenes and mickeys character is an all around likeable guy even though he shouldnt be, movies worth seeing and i hope he doenst lose to sean penn

Ok, i can see Rourke as Crimson Dynamo. But, I was hoping for Iron Man's greatest foe, The Mandarin. The terrorists in the 1st film were called "The Brotherhood of the Ten Rings", and Mandarin has Ten Magic Rings, so I figured he'd be a sure thing for the sequel.
