There is a way to get video into Live Motion. First you'll need to use a program like VirtualDub to export the video into a sequence of still images, jpg, bmp, etc. Then use Live Motion's import sequence to get them all into Live Motion. I added a video response, and that video was edited mostly using Live Motion. I also used VirtualDub and an audio edited. I exported the video to QT format, then to avi.
