  • Why is Thier A Japan Thing On Some Of Them?...

  • These are the most dedicated men our nation has. I cant wait to earn my campaign cover.

  • all I know is, DI school is one of the longest, most grueling (as far as mental) schools in the entire Marine Corps. When I was in recruit depot (in 2004) my DI explained a couple things to me about the school, all I know is if you want to do it prepare for the worst; I just know this know to be humble and to take a lot of constructive criticism, and I believe it's pretty hard to get in, since you have to know the Standard of Operations Manual inside and out...that's about all I can say for ya'l

  • You have to go to a marine drill instructor school to become a drill instructor, and how long is this school?

    PLEASE REPLY

  • @bloodshot738 i was wondering that myself..plus i THINK a person can be a DI for only so much time or something like that..Can anyone answer my questions as well as bloodshot's questions,Also im gonna assume it's hard to have a family life when they are D I's?

  • @bloodshot738 & @thecolaratlady see my post above. That's about all I got. possibly if you don't live near one of the recruit depots to ask a DI, go to a local recruiting station and ask a Recruiter about the school, they'll most likely know more.

  • Great VID! Primarily because the badass instrumental music and Flogging Molly at the end. Finally, a military vid that doesn't use Disturb or Puddle of Mud. Many military people are too stupid to listen to other stuff besides Nu Metal or w/e else is sounds like "metal"

  • I would like to see them bring back Cpl's to the drill field.

  • awesome editing

  • Id reckonize Zoe Keating anywhere.

  • they did the robot

  • D.I.S. Bootcamp on Steroids! Oorah!

  • SCREAM AYE SIR!!!

  • omg 3:53 Gysgt Booker was my DI back in Dec 8, 2008 India Co 3209...Semper Fi

  • omg they look like f'n robots

  • wait im a lil confused now, whats with the korean flag on one of them? one of em was ROKMC?

  • @animemstrmnd ROKMC was created based off the USMC and im pretty sure some, if not all ROKMC drill instructors are trained in the U.S.

  • Dude all you need to knowto be a drill instructor is, Half left face, front leaning rest position, move, in cadence, excercise, 1,2,3,... and so on

  • Im getting chills watching this. When I see one of these professionals, I cant help but to make a quick about face or to the rear.

  • 2:16 was pretty cool.

  • Congratulations, you are now one of the most feared men in America.

  • shyt i remember this auditorium.. safe haven every fuckin sundays, away from the screamin n yellin.. away from the devil himself, the drill instructor.

  • Out of all the military's training personnel, the Marine DI looks the best. They look so fucking coolllll!!!!!!

  • Home of the brave, and home of the tough, Semper Fi "Always faithful" and that's no bluff !!. They're mighty and true, they protect our freedom for me and you. Honor Courage and commitment is what they're taught to do. It's all about protecting the red, the white and the blue!!!. Marines will never retreat, break or bend, they're ready to fight, attack and defend. I respect our military, and proud to say,God Bless this country and our brave men and women from the USMC OoooH Raahh all day!

  • compare this shit to the army drill sargeant creed, haaaaaaa

  • This is the birth of devil dogs

  • ORAHH!

  • I want to be a DI

  • This is what happens to Supply Room NCOs who get caught selling field gear to civilians. After DI school they earn the title 'Sarge'!!

  • wouldn't want to be a recruit standing around outside when they let out lol

  • Can someone tell me why the first too DI's had a South Korean Patch on them?

  • When i was a recruit there in San Diego we watched 300 in that building for thanksgiving..lol..good times

  • what`s the intro song title?

  • The birth of a legendary badass!

  • amazing video

  • San deigo and Paris Island are the Anvils. Recruits are the raw material. And DI's are the hammer. togather they forge Marines

  • I wonder what it would be like to be married to a DI.

  • @plane15man When I was in High School. A teacher I had ,both her parents were Drill Instructors, and had met at Parris Island. Not sure how long after they got married?

  • Semper Fi, Big Dogs.

  • duuuuude im pretty sure that was my drill instuctor 3 years ago @ 1:43 DI SGT Furgoso... even though you cant see his face, theres no mistaking the chills i got just from seein him:S lol

  • The song in the beginning is called 'We Insist' by Zoe Keating. She's actually a Celloist

  • To all of the hats...thanks for all you do.

  • I never thought I'd find myself saying this...but I actually kinda miss my drill instructors.

  • These are some of the biggest assholes in the world. But we need these assholes because without them we would not have Marines. Semper Fi

  • The american public could not even comprehend %1 of what happens at Parris Island while your there. The Marine Corps Drill instructors will do what your parents didn't.

I don't think there isn't a day that goes by I don't think about PI and how it affected me.

  • WHY DI'S ARE OFTENLY YELLING AT THE MARINES?

  • ok so you say the song is floggin molly, what is the song in the begining

  • bunch of pucks wearing pink thongs, lolteaching a korean??wtf.the fags are already there.lol

  • Drill Instructors created Chuck Norris.

  • @AfroMohawkable FUCK CHUCK NORRIS!!!

  • @AfroMohawkable Chuck Norris created drill instructors

  • My J hat was the most bad ass man I have ever met in my life. He was 150 lbs of pure Devil dog. He said this to our platoon "I don't know about you guys, but I became a Marine to kill mother fuckers and to fuck exotic bitches. Pff but I guess that's just me."

  • @ShananiKings LOL

  • @ShananiKings to fuck exotic men he meant

  • @ShananiKing Did your J want to protect the constitution? or i hope he died with a korean dick in his butt

  • @darrenzimm You're a real pud, you know that?

  • 3:20 he quotes a Roman scholar "if you want peace prepare for war" that is the most retarded quote ever uttered. LOL but it is suitable for the military. Roman's had more slaves than citizens. Romans tricked & raped thousands of their own women.

  • @darrenzimm There is nothing retarded about it. If you can front a 4 different services of highly trained professional Military members... well equipped and dedicated to their profession. It is one of the most sure deterrents of conflict.. As for comparing us to slavers and rapist. Grow up. By the way, the Roman scholar was Vegetius.

  • I can't remember the name of my first pet, nor my High School teachers or even my old house number. But to this day, I still remember the names of my Drill Instructors and the hours, days, weeks and months I spent with them, because they decided that they wanted to be the best. Drill Instructors don't train Marines, they crush civilians and make Marines.

Semper Fucking Fi Devil Dogs, give'em hell.

  • Drill Instructors make chuck norris look like a bag of trash! ;)

  • I went to church in there :)

  • It takes alot of heart to become a DI, my staff NCO will checking in to the school in April, i wish him the best..

  • Thanks to them nothing in life stresses me they taught me to think thru everything and anything.

  • That is a awesome video!! Takes a dedicated person to go thru DI!!!!

  • whats the very first song?

  • I didnt know they got their campaign covers right away. I remember a bunch of new DIs at MCRD using normal covers because they didnt receiver their campaigns yet

  • if i become a drill instructor, i'd go back to my high school and give the jrotc kids some real discipline!

  • U.S. Army is not better

  • i love how the video ends with flogging molly playing

  • at 1:37 is that a Japanese flag on the guys arm?

  • @JFraz88 there were about 3 Korean Marines in that class who came to school here in the U.S. and then they return to Korea to be instructors there.

  • @kdiz3 Oh well thats pretty cool, at least they got some great training now they can make there recruits over there badass!

  • @JFraz88 that was i belive south korea

  • @JFraz88 looks korean

  • 11.5 weeks to be a DI... a little less than 13 weeks at Parris Island, damn.

  • American DI's might be scary but I bet a Scottish one is far worse!

  • This is inspiring, motivational, advancing, artistic, beautifying, beneficial, broadening, constructive, corrective, developmental, dignifying, disciplining, edifying, educative, elevating, enriching, glorifying, helpful, humane, humanizing, influential, inspirational , instructive, polishing, promoting, raising, refined, refining, regenerative, stimulating, uplifting, widening....whew. In short, these men cannot be put into words. KILL!

  • Good editing.

  • if ya got nightmares than ya shouldnot of joined

  • does anyone know if a commissioned officer can become a drill instructor because i beleave i spotted two officers on the stage sitting with the DIs

  • @ken0is0gay0fan0club Great question. They are Officers in the MCRD San Diego Chain of Command. They were part of the ceremony. Maybe one day you will be a Marine. Take care

  • @ken0is0gay0fan0club In the Marine Corp only, yes, certain officers can be DI's

  • I think i know one of the SDI's.

  • My Grandfather went though Parris Island boot camp during World War 2. He said, some of the Drill Instructors were privates who had graduated themselves maybe 4 months earlier. They'd find a few graduates who were good leaders. Put them through a short D.I. School. Then have them train recruits. Because no one was avaliable. All the Sergeants were over sea's in combat. But a much different time though. Now they have world Class Drill Instructors.

  • Respect...I love Marines

  • This editing is all kinds of WIN. great job

  • that some crazy shit. i remember my first day asking my DI if i could use the restroom. he said he was going to drop kick me if i ever talked to him again.!!!!!!

  • ohhh snap he made me a Marine

  • Jeez this school must be hard as fuck mentally

  • pro editing!

  • in my sleep, I still hear my DI, "that's not enough intensity, AHHHHH!"

  • holy schiza.....sgtmaj hines...figures gettin another award :p

  • as you can see none of these guys have man boobs =pure testosterone

  • Must.....know....name......of song in beginning!

  • Dark guy with glasses looked like my Senior Drill Instructor. Gunnery Sergeant Booker.

  • is that a korean flag in place of chevrons at 1:36?

  • @gtrjunkieGreat eyes. Maybe South Korea sent over a ROK Marine for some training.

  • fuckin hardcore! Oorah!

    stone faced marines

  • A long time friend had alot of fun back in the day ! BIg ups Willy your the man!

  • @bumblebee4me22 AAAHHHH Buddy fucker!!! hahahaha

  • 1:10

    robot dance

  • Do you need to be E-5 or higher to become a DI?

  • @shattori1 You need an E-5 or higher plus you must be selected for DI school

  • @shattori1 right before i graduated in 96" I saw a cpl in another company wearing a smokey.

  • DI school is the toughest school in the military

  • Look like park rangers

  • Boot camp is their to thin out the weak. If you can't handel it then don't try to become a Marine. Semper Fi.

  • Come on, you know it is also necessary to - I do not know, if this is the right translation - to break your will and then rebuild you as obeying machine, the way the army needs you. I am not criticizing, it just they way it works.

  • DI's kick ass!

    Semper Fi...Oorah!

  • The video is great! New DI's are made to motivate and create marines in my marine corps! Semper Fi

  • I despise the military tactic of breaking everyone down and attempting to "bring them back up as a group". They don't realize that in tearing them down, they're causing mental and emotional damage that is not remedied through the "building back up" process.

  • @kcolumbusgirl ummm you are a piece of shit pussy ass scum, go crawl in a hole and die

  • @kcolumbusgirl FUCK YOU TREE HUGGING HIPPY! I HOPE YOUR PUSSY ROTS!

  • @kcolumbusgirl yes it is, its returned with pride, you dont know what your talking about, people forget what they have to train us to do, we kill poeple to defend the country, they ahve to break you down and build you up into a man so that your able to do that job

  • Hey Rauselbach, the dark green DI with the glasses, his name wouldn't be Booker by any chance would it? We were in the same unit in Iraq from June 04-Feb05.

  • What is that song in the beginning of the vid called

  • @bigdscs

    whats left of the flag

    by flogging molly

  • i was going to be a drill instructor... but the dept of the navy decided my services would be better used as an officer... Dark side here i come.

  • wow you can tell the difference between US marines and ROK marines

    ROK marines have hair

  • Bastards, I still have nightmares.

    Oorah!

    Semper Fi.

  • @Lizardking623 huahauahuahuah...

    Tell me about it...

    Semper Fi.

  • @Lizardking623 ohhhhhhhhhh snap he made me a marine... 4 ever semper fi do or die oorah!!!!!!!!

  • @Lizardking623

    us army better.

  • @neema125 faggot

  • @neema125 Try no.

  • @neema125 wow dude the marines get way more training AND better training, all the army does is like 8 weeks of BASIC training.

  • @Ksulover95 thats just basic wise.

  • @Ksulover95 Bullshit, the army and as a tanker,(a gunner on the m1a2)tank we go 4 mnths,16 weeks,do some research, the U.S. ARMY has always had more landings at sea,won more banners,i can teach anyone too shoot a rifle,so pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee spare the crap.

  • @jrrichards89 You do know ARMY stands for Aint Ready to be Men Yet

  • DI's are so badass.

  • love these boot marines. just love them, so motivated. DISCIPLINE OOHRAH!

sends chills down my spine son

  • Ssgt. Lopez at 1:14

  • Comment removed

  • I graduated D.I. school in San diego October 1989

  • You keep your mos even if you become a (DI, Recruiter, and so on) those are called B Billets. If you don't do one of these you'll never get past SSgt./E6. You also have to be at least a Sgt. , abd ve in for at least four years.

  • semper fi

  • holy shit. i remember DI SSgt Rauschelbach. He was a DI in the floor above me. he was one of the very few DI's that didn't mess with me even though i was the Guide...until the crucible, then he called me a "devildyke" hahaha! then when went to the baseball game and he said our platoon should all wear rainbow foam fingers lol.

  • whats the begining music i realy like it

  • K check it out

That was a Korean patch, they are Korean military members that go trough to di school to be dis for their military

Korean military commonly go to mcrd sandiego because of the discipline of the Usmc

Those who went trough training 02- present can vouch that they've seen Korean military either in the squad bay or phase 2 training

    Just saying

    Semper fidelis

  • u guys train north korean to be DI's also? i saw a korean patch on that marine's arm sleeve

  • is that the south korean flag in 1:37

  • that hat looks pretty cool. do u guys know where i can buy one?

  • What the DI's cover? That shits earned bitch! You want one go through boot camp, become a marine, then go through drill instructor and earn that smokey bear!

  • lol dude stop being a whiny cock sucking bitch, whats your problem? Why you even watching this video?

  • That made you sound like a 10 year old kid with a dirty mouth. Plus you could never wear any Marine COVER let alone the smokey bear. None of the Marine Corps covers are for the weak

  • Can you have one MOS and then quit that MOS and go on to 0911 (DI)?

  • You have to be a Sgt at least to attend Drill Instructor school. DI duty is a billet MOS. You will keep your primary throughout your tour though

  • I see. So if I'm DI, I'll still keep my infantry job (for example, or any other MOS)?

  • I had 3 M.O.S.s 3531 (Motor Transport) 6046 (Aircraft Maint Admin) 8511 (Drill Instructor)

  • That was stupid of me. I should've known you NEED another MOS in order to be a DI because you need to be at least an E-5.

  • that cover is a campaign cover. not a cover alone

  • i love those damn covers drill instructors have.

  • Does anybody know what song is playing at the start of this video? I'm really desperate to know.

  • it tells u right at the beginning

  • That title is for the song near the end of the video. Not the beginning :S

  • I'm going to Parris Island June 7th. I got 1st Batallion Alpha Co. does anybody know anything in perticular about that batallion and co.?

  • i just graduated from 1st BN A. Co. Jan 15, 2010. i can tell u they wont sacrifice discipline for anything. theyll march u into the sandpit during final drill if he has to. Keyword PEP

    Pull off blouse

    Empty pockets

    Push! bitch

  • Thanks for the heads up! and congrats Marine.

  • this is a really well put together video. Congrats DIs

  • Yeah that's what I figured. I can't imagine all their drill instructors coming overseas to earn their campaign covers though. Pretty awesome how I recognize the drill instructors in this video!

  • they keep their ass so tight it looks like if they sneeze they'll blow a cheek off

  • idk with the music it feels like its out of the halo universe like the ODST commercial, but I like it im not bagging on it. Oorah! Hope to be Considered a Recruit by next summer.

  • can DIs be deployed overseas?

  • i HEARD that they can be. but i dunno what they would do...

  • No, drill instructor is a non-deployable job, so for however long your a drill instructor you will not be deployed.

  • Being a Drill Instructor is what's called a B-Billet. Basically it's when a Marine partakes in the doing of a specialty MOS (Military Occupational Specialty).

So pretty much being a drill instructor isn't their main job in the Corps. It something they do temporarily. Drill Instructors have main MOS's ranging anywhere from Recon Infantry to, Admin & Logistics, to even a cook. It all depends on the individual.

  • Do drill Sargent see actually combat, or they come out of the academy to teach?

  • Comment removed

  • theyre drill INSTRUCTORS i nkow you dont nkow but im just tellin you, army has drill sergeants, marines are dril instructors, and they come from all jobs, i can almost garauntee they are all combat veterans or have been deployed to a combat zone, theyre doing a b billet(about 4 years worth of training recruits or marines) that every marine does if theyre in for a long time

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Long story short, to answer your question, yes, they can. But they wont be deployed as a Drill Instructor. Not a chance. But rather, they will go while doing their primary MOS. Whatever it may be.

Haha, does that answer your question?

  • whoa excuse me but I noticed a drill instructor with a South Korean patch instead of enlisted insignias at 1:35 can someone shed some info on this? I'll just assume that he received special duty for cross training

  • HOO RAH

  • drill instructors seem unhuman for the first like 2 months, you dont see them eat, sleep, or sit. its weird.

  • they act like robots

  • these guys are the hardest SOBs on the planet! i am who i am now b/c of my DI... hoorah!

  • A big OORAH to DI's past and present, from a fellow Hat; Class 4-94, 94-96 A Co 1st RTBN, '02-'05 M and L Co 3rd RTBN, STC, Spt Bn, DI School Spt Bn. Kill Frickin Bodies.
