This was the best campaign of the national election. Extremely clever, thoughtful and entertaining. Kudos to whoever put this together. Actually, I'm interested in hearing some names, please reply.
for sure, your comments reflect your parties that you will vote for, you already forgot all the wasted money the liberals had (as well as the conservatives) that is why is all a lie, power corrupts, is a reality, ,maybe we need to change the way we govern ourselves, maybe we should change our system for something more "up to date".
call me radical, call me "brainwashed" I consider myself realistic, honest and for sure revolutionary!
For anybody who's still complaining about Liberal corruption and the Adscam fiasco that cost them the office, consider this:
Harper has changed Gov. of Canada imagery and the name to "The Harper Government", while using taxpayer's money to advertise the Conservative Party when there's not an election. Altering Government documents and press releases so they have a Conservative theme. Sending out Government cheques with the Conservative logo. Right under your nose.
To all who make this kind of "commercials" Are you tying to brainwash someone?, isn't the secrecy for all the parties? Why do you expect the true? Maybe in Utopia not in Canada, sure that is all we want buy we aren't getting it.
I guess in the tines of recession is best to keep things consistently even do they may be out a bit or a lot depending on your point of view, your tendencies as a person, even if you like one of the parties member, is all about perspectives.
It sounds like you've been brainwashed. We expect "the true" from all parties and hold them accountable when they lie. Under "The Harper Government", all information must be sanitized and approved before being released to the public, if at all. Where's the $50million missing from the G8 budget? What's the true cost of the F-35s? Ad nauseum. Harper is a crook, and he's going to get caught.
It would be even better if we we're able to obtain a goverment that's not corrupted in this false right wing/left wing paragdime. Sad that people think that changing a government that has corrupted us from the right will eventually bring a government that won't with the left. It's about time that people realise that we have to eliminate the string puppeters that corrupt us globaly. No more secret threaties and abusive government corruption done via the corporations and the bilderbergers..
Great little video. Harper has changed the Canada I've known all my life - bigotry, small-mindedness, the lack of social solidarity. These are his values. People might want to read The Armageddon Factor by Marci McDonald to see who's pulling his strings.

Very nice - this is the kind of ad Canada needs to be inundated with right now. The list of Harper CRAP coalition misdeeds is huge, but they ALL bear repeating, and repeating again.
Yes, Harper is a corporatist shill. But I doubt the Liberals will be any better. Both of them would gladly let the CFR dictate what Canada does.
Given how strong OUR economy and legal system is, WE should be telling the CFR what to do.
I've had enough of my MPs going to Ottawa and obeying the party even when it hurts their constituents: I'm voting for an independent or a small party candidate.
@metalicboy At least the Liberals have a better financial track record than the Conservatives -- don't forget that Harper inherited a surplus from them, and instantly wiped it out.
When Canadians get over hating the Liberals for the sponsorship scandal, they may reinstate "the ruling party". For now, we can expect another Harper minority because Canadians took the Liberal corruption as personal betrayal. Look forward to another term of fuhrer Harper. After that Canadians will have had enough of this criminal and vote the old criminal back in.
Yes, enough of the only banking system that didn't need a bailout. Enough of the lowest unemployment rate and highest GDP growth. Down with fiscal responsibility. Let's create a video showing a single month of job losses (Feb 2011) and ignore the fact that since Aug 09 we've added 456,000 jobs while the US is only up 164,000 (and they are 10x the size). Low inflation? Lower taxes? Enough!. Racking up debt, increasing taxes, scaring businesses and spending money we don't have? Winning!
@dirkpuslich BTW, if Harper DOES get a majority...do you think you can trust him NOT to do Reagan/Clinton/Bush style financial deregulation? The only reason you don't have that for sure in Canada at this point is that Harper didn't have the votes in a minority. In a majority, he'll destroy Canada's healthcare system, smash unions, and give Canada an American style "invade EVERYBODY!" foreign policy.
Is there a reason you hate what Canada stands for?
or a 2% drop in manufacturing in the last 5 years, and an economy that is almost entirely propped up with government and union pension funds that were amassed in the previous 20 years... anyone can cherry pick their economic indicators.
Fact is this, the Harper agenda is to slash corporate taxes to the rates of third world rates. The rates shared by desperate countries begging for corporate investment. Not countries that can rely on the innate economic strengths.

I'm thankful for Harper. We live in a great country... much better than when the Liberals ran it. They were a complete disaster. With Harper doing so well, the Liberals and NDP are scared out of their minds and turning to lies and treats now... and creating false/inaccurate videos like this. Shows how low they really are. No integrity. No class. It's sad.
@OneAvidity lies and "treats"? How much integrity do you have to claim that this video is inaccurate? Can you explain (so you boost the comment count on this excellent depiction of Harper governance)?
@wrongwayman1 Hold your nose and pick a name out of a hat. Anyone is better, than the only PM in history to be found in contempt of Parliament (to say nothing of the many times he's broken the law and violated our freedoms).
I agree harper is corrupt as hell and should be hung in town square but the whole system is rigged! The voting system is a theatrical display to give the voting cattle the illusion of choice and control over "their" government.
@Iseeyoursoul What do you think happens, when you sit on your ass and do nothing, when you KNOW we have a tyrant running things? Harper's not exactly winning over the masses, but he is getting people so cynical that they stay home.
A single vote would not have an effect on an election. Even 10,000 votes makes little difference, if any.
In addition, taking part in the theatrical polls is completely illogical to someone who doesn't support statism.
Not recognizing one of five pre chosen rulers also means we do not consent to serve as their subjects. We don't pretend their authority is legitimate, and recognize their only power over us is through violence.
@Iseeyoursoul "A single vote would not have an effect on an election." Not true at all. Here in Sudbury, during our last municipal election, one of the wards was won by a single vote. This changed the dynamic of city council completely. In a federal election it takes individual ridings to win seats. If an election came down to 1 seat, and any of the winning party's seats were won by 1 vote, that 1 vote will have decided which party forms the government. It may be unlikely, but it could happen.
You're lumping together two kinds of elections that differ in a major way, size. National elections involve millions of people, how many were invovled in that municipal election?
If there's 3 people voting then you have 33% of decision making power, if it's 1000 people then you have 0.1% and if it's a million you have 0.0001% decision making power. Hope that puts it in perspective.
Can you tell me the name of the sudbury ward you're referring to so I can check?
@Iseeyoursoul It's Ward 10. I looked it up again myself and from what I'm seeing, a recount resulted in the lead increasing to 5 votes, but there seems to be no record of the initial vote tally, or the first recount which resulted in the 5 vote lead. There's only record now of the 5 vote lead and the losing candidate opting not to recount again. Wikipage, source 19 - deadlink.
@Iseeyoursoul Nonetheless, that does not change the point at hand. Every vote counts. 1 million people are not voting in any individual federal riding, and that is where the votes count. The number of ridings won determines the government, not the number of votes cast, so it doesn't matter if 1 million people voted for one party and 900,000 voted for another if the party that garnered 900,000 votes won more ridings.
Right. Ridings aka PM's elected by district of which there totals 308 in canada. My district had 74,826 registered voters, so my individual vote contributed 0.0013% to the final decision of which PM would "represent" me.
You would need 748 people to control 1% of the riding for this district.
As I originally said "a single vote has little or no effect on the election outcome", and the math speaks for itself.
@Iseeyoursoul Its true one vote may not matter, but then again if everyone had that attitude no one would vote at all. In the end you have to have some form of representation, even if its imperfect its better than abandoning everything and hoping that an anarchy works better. I can see that you're against the use of violence...but really, in this world if you want to avoid *all* forms of coercion, you're going to be hiding under your bed. Power structures form spontaneously throughout history
@radscorpion8 I agree in the long term that one day there will be no violence, because human beings will understand that it doesn't help anyone. And perhaps you're making a statement with your idea of not voting, but we're not close to that point yet. If you want to assist society in a practical way, then fight for rights and for more oversight at how much money politicians are being paid by corporations. These are simple but very powerful ways to reduce corruption and create a better world
I cannot agree that humans will one day lose their violent tendencies, because it's always a seed of potential within a person. unless we start to genetically modify ourselves and change our very nature, the potential for violence will always be a human characteristic. Furthermore I put forth that people need to use force / violence by necessity to defend themselves against predators (be it human or non).
The state is a predatory institution. it starts wars, it devours immeasurable resources in devising new tax schemes, imposes ridiculous laws, jails people for non violent crime. It constantly expands dependent classes, over regulates and gives monopolies to industries and holds back new innovation.
This is not representation, at least not of my desires for "canada". In fact an institution engaged in these activities should be considered destructive to society.
@Iseeyoursoul Continuing from my last comment, I see no problem with the current system, as it ensures that each region of Canada is represented in the House. What I would like to see is an elected Senate. An idea I've come up with is to calculate the total percentage of the vote garnered by each party, then multiply that by the number of Senate seats. The result is the number of Senators a party may appoint (rounded up, unless doing so would create or increase a Senate majority).
Great video! More people need to see this. Harper is running the most secretive and corrupt government in Canadian history and I don't think the vast majority of Canadians want to be at the end of the road Harper is leading us down.
Pretty much sums up 5 years of Harper rule. It is time for Canada to dump this idiot before he ruins our country, both here and away, permanently. He did promise that we won't recognize Canada when he was done with it. I all ready don't, and it's not for the good.

Harper must go... he is a liar. - Said he would make the gov't smaller - its now bigger than ever
- He would make it more transparent and he has been caught with holding information on spending from parliament
- Wanted an elected Senate, he appointed senators who had to sign a contract to go along with his will
- Wanted honest gov't, and is now the only gov't to be found in contempt of parliament in Canadian history
