I'm Canadian and have no idea who wrote the anthem first, but I don't really care! Nauru and Canada are both beautiful countries with beautiful anthems, and both worthy of all our respect.

I like to call Nauru the Phospahte nation, but the mine has pretty much waned. It only takes 15 minutes to drive around the island, there are only 3 restaurants, 2 hotels, one supermarket, one sports field, one church, and one bar, plus they only use rainwater! And although Vatican City and Monaco are smaller, they are richer and surrounded by rich areas (Rome, Nice/French Riviera).
