  • What I wouldn't give for a full album from the three of them.

  • the celts are not the only fighting race!

and the irish are not the only celts.

check it all out on any celtic nationalism website.

  • WOW, My GOD,.. No offence to Ennoylou, or Mary, but my heart misses a beat when Delores sings just one note. Delores if you want a husband or something, I'm available. Absolutely Beautiful Music..........

  • Dolores was a national treasure

  • Ron Hynes, wrote this song and forever made a piece of history.

  • KEY OF G, easy basic chord changes. Jump in any time. Plunk along. COMPASSIONTE HINT: Turn your volume up to max so you won't have to hear the sound of your own vocal

  • a great Newfoundland song.....so happy the Irish like it

  • IF R.T.E. RADIO AND T.V. WERE TO RUMMAGE THROUGH ITS VAULTS, THEY WOULD HAVE SO MUCH TO GIVE TO US ON D.V.D.s. BUT THAT MIGHT TAKE INTELLIGENCE, EDUCATION.

  • Three sisters of song.

  • This is as near perfection as you can get - pure bliss, but Emmylou and Mary singing "Green Rolling Hills" is the nearest thing to heaven that I know. Sorry, couldn't resist that! ;-)

  • Music that is as beautiful as this gives me faith again in the human race. In spite of all of the ugliness we make, we can still produce something as sublimely beautific as this. Purely and simply wondrous.

  • Wow, how beautiful. So great Singers so smooth and tight together. Unbeleaveable.

Thanks for posting, I love it

    Greetings from Germany,

  • wow, this just tore me to bits. I'm no match for Emmylou, she sings two notes and I'm a wreck.

  • "-I'm feeling so tired-Not all that strong"...A true gem of a song!

  • Now there are three angels with voices never to be duplicated .

  • A timeless classic...Hadn't heard it in years, then stumbled onto it today! Brings back some memories..

  • Transatlantic beauty and harmony.

  • Mary Black- I adore you! :D

  • Those Uileann Pipes are something else . . . get me every time !

  • They are just so fine. And perfectly matched for this song. Thank you, Ladies. You're making the World a better place.

  • The key seems a tad too high for Dolores but I love this version anyway!

  • What a fantastic trio - beautiful song - brings tears to my eyes.

  • PERFECTION!!!!!

  • thanks even thought this song is older than me (lol) i still love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • If Ms. Harris doesn't have Irish blood coursing through her veins then, I'll chew my rotten toe off!

  • Beautiful and simple, yet complex and evocative. Is that a contradiction? No. Most of the most beautiful melodies ever written have been simple, such as SHEEP MAY SAFELY GRAZE by Bach, and many Beethoven melodies. Again, and oldie but wonderful.

  • class song

  • These three women have such unique voices, but then they come together so beautifully on the chorus. The song is so perfectly written, and the then the melencholy of the pipes comes in to heighten what was already established by the words and the singing. I've watched this video often and it gets me everytime.

  • simply beautiful

  • great song brill singers

  • Davy Spillane on the pipes?

  • I've loved this song for years. What are those wind instruments being played in the break? Those aren't bagpipes, are they?

  • "Uilleann pipes... the characteristic national bagpipe of Ireland." __Wikipedia

For some classic examples of uilleann pipe playing, see also here on YouTube The Bothy Band's "Kesh Jig," and Moving Hearts' The Storm," "Downtown," and "Category."

    Happy St. Patrick's Day!

  • Thank you rghm, and Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and yours.

    James

  • Three masters (mistresses?) at their art; Delores's voice is so strong and evocative I have to listen twice.

  • i remember years ago going to see her in the Rialto in derry, i was only 9 i think.. my sister took me to see her, we met her afterwards . she was really nice , signed autographs for everyone :)

  • That was incredibly beautiful! Loved it. I thank my friend Linda (ldeagnon) for sharing this song with me. 5 stars to you and thanks for publishing this video :)

  • Just once in a while we hear a magical moment in music, this is one of those times, what a beautiful song, what beautiful singers. Greetings from Ireland.

  • From 'Bringing It All Back Home' : a double CD with music that tells the history of the Irish in America.

  • 'Bringing It All Back Home'

  • these three together = magic

  • This reminds me of my beautiful mother. She was always singing it. Sonny is one of those songs that reminds me of who I am and where I come from.

  • It doesn't get any better than this.Beautiful harmonies.I first saw this on a British t.v. documentary many years ago,i have waited a long time to hear it again.Magnificent.

  • This is a part of the original "Transatlantic Sessions".

    After much struggle:
