@cookieshopgirl No. She left it as a clue for him to notice so that he would get in touch with the professor so he could learn how to get back to her. All she could do is wait for him.
I was so moved by this film when i first viewed it as a young boy in the 80s... Never recalled the title until just recently (through google searches). Now revisiting this masterpiece with my beloved wife. Thank you so much for posting it.
I'm such a sucker for this movie...I still get chills when he's in the library, sees the "Old" picture of her in the book, and realizes it was her who gave him the watch. Awesome, thanks for posting!
I saw this on tv way back in the early 80's when I was still a kid and was so deeply moved by it that I couldnt stop thinking about how long ago 1912 was. lol, silly...
@xhylhux1587 .. I cry too, it's the very slight smile that washes over 'Richard's face', and then we see him with Elsie forever.. *sniff sniff here I go again*...
Wonderful film, I remember watching this over 20 years ago, and I loved it then and still do today... Best regards from Wales :0)x
My all time favorite movie..I named my daughter after Jane's character..and I was on the island in 1997. So beautiful.

I love how he smiles at the picture right before he goes to Arthur whose packing his luggage in the car. Just a "I'm going to get you" smile. <3
