Notice how all of Hovind's predictions are things we already know? Why doesn't he make some predictions (he has plenty of time to do that now) of things that are not already known and see how his predictions based on creation actually fare?

@christo930 Mr Hovind (he doesn't possess a real PHD) lies about his experience as a teacher. He was not a HS science teacher for 15 years, he was a part time pastor and substitute teacher at a religious school and it wasn't even for 15 years. I am not going to blast creationism here, but if you want to be a creationist, at least listen to Dr Behe (a real PHD) who doesn't lie about his credentials and his experience. Dr Behe is a real creation scientist because he has a real PHD in science.

It doesn't take much to say that life was created, how God did it would be the argument.

Mike, Creationists don't fall back on a miricle to explain creation. Nor would it be right for Columbus to use the word miricle to explain the movement of a Trident Submarine. The correct explanation is God has a greator technology than we do. God has the tech to transmute energy to matter. We may also have this tech in the future. The miricle is how people reject God's truth to believe that chaos is their creator. We should take solace that this was all fortold in scrtipture.

This is what happens when you have to argue with FACT.. This was a landslide, this guy Kent Hovind is pretty good, but how good do you have to be when all of the evidence is on your side. I did not see this guy Shermer refute one claim he made, what was up with that? All he did was insult Dr. Hovind and make childish comments when his back was against the wall. This debate was over before it began, evolution is such a religion..lol.. I'm convinced this guy more so wished God didn't exist.

@0ceanline he was operating a ministry that he thought was covered under tax exemption but i think someone pressured a church and they rolled over on him. he begged the courts to let him just pay the debt but they sentenced him to the maximum number of years allowed for that "crime"... people have gone to jail for tax evasion, outright, blatant, and millions of dollars.. that wasn't hovind. the dude gave out stuff for free. he clearly wasn't making a profit.

@icewomen881 Tax evasion. The U.S. tax system is illegal. It was supposedly imposed to pay for world war 2 and was supposed to be temporary.  Hovind challenged the illegal tax system. The courts basically said, "Yes, the tax laws are illegal, but you're going to prison for not obeying them".

Dr. Mike Shermer's inclusion of Old Testament references that have nothing to do with either Creationism or Evolution offer no merit to his argument for evolution. He should have spent his rebuttal time addressing statements made by Dr. Kent Hovind, rather he spent his time explaining why he left 'Christianity', and adopted 'Science'.

Dr. Kent Hovind did a lot better with his rebuttal time. In terms of mechanics within the debate, I'd vote Dr. Kent Hovind as 'winner'.

#Hovind blows Michael Shermer away in this debate. Some of Shermer's arguments aren't even relevant, such as what the pope thinks about evolution. Who care? Doesn't he realize he's debating with & dealing with an audience of protestant evangelicals, not Roman Catholics?
