  • I love the "fake it till u make it". I know that feeling. I am just getting past the twa stage. Big chop was dec. 18th 2011. I have been watching your vids since March 2011. Thank you for having videos of when your hair was short as well as long. I have been doing the fake it till ya feel it until recently and I'm finally feeling it. I could tell by looks many did not like my hair and I was self concious but I made it over the hump!! Thanks for your very supportive and real channel!!

  • love this encouraging message i'm actually in my 2 month of going natural alot of mixed emotions and discouraging words from family and friends but i'm still moving on needed this encouragement!!!!!

  • I love your videos & I have been watching you for a while, and you have somewhat inspired me to go Natural! Thanks!

  • ah!!!!!! ok....I'm transitioning and everyone wants me to get a perm! This helped so much! Thank you!

  • Lovely and inspiring video!

  • That's great advice, this is why I love you! -always keeping it real!

  • thank u so much for this vid..I recently cut my waist lengthed relaxed hair off to a short twa to go natural again and Ive been catching so much flack for it.I have been blown away by the negative reactions that Ive been gettin from everyone over something as simple as hair..Im not ashamed and Im ready for the challenge..but I was kinda down today and ur vid really really helped!!

  • Thank you, just did the BC not too long ago and have been struggling with the "un veiling" of the TWA. It sure isn't easy. This helps a lot. Thank you.

  • You are so AMAZING!

You are truly a wonderful inspiration and keep it so DANG real! : )

Keep doing you mama, you make a difference in the world

    WooWooWoo!

    love and much respect sis

  • LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!! One of the best pieces of advice ever, flaunt it and work it!

  • HEEEELP I NEED HELP WITH FRIZZ!

  • Hi. i have watched quit a few of your vids. I am asking if maybe you have done an installation video of the hair you have in. in this vid. I saw the video where you took them out but i like it and think it is an idea i might want to try as i transition and just interested in how you installed it. Hope to hear from you soon. :D

  • Preach!

  • BUT ITS SOO HARDD ! i just feel like giving up and going back to relaxers

  • Mixed girls don't go through this but I know of black women that deal with this. Its society of course but its also black people's fault for not accepting themselves and trying to be what they are not.

  • @Barfetta3000 Im mixed and I have 3 different textures including 4a and 4b. Im transitioning and my hair looks a hot mess when its not styled, but I still gotta work with what God gave me. Dont generalize mixed women.

  • Niggas color is like shit

  • go ahead and get the talk show deal, i'd watch. thanks for posting.

  • @geminezmarie lol, thanks . That would be SWEET

  • I know this video is old but where did you get your earrings from? Yeah I'm watching all of the old videos today, lol.

  • @mokahdeelyte from forever 21

  • luv this vid i cut my hair completely off in nov 2010 let it grow for 2 months then cut it completely bald again bc it was damaged beyond the roots but now im workin my natural short hair i love every curl in my head

  • Love this video. Went natural the summer before my senior year oh high school with my younger sis. Got so much crap from older sister and mom. Now, two...almost three years later, mom is transitioning and older sis cut off her hair earlier this year. Sometimes family doesn't get it. Doing what made me happy is what was important.

  • you just made me smile(; dammn your beautiful ! on the inside too(:

  • Thanks for the video. I'm 18 and 10 months post and I deal with so much smack from most of the people in my family when it comes to natural hair. Thanks for the encouragement.

  • i love your hair and your video - check out my channel GerriesTransitioning

  • God bless you.

  • SO REAL, SO TRUE! Keep doing what you're doing, encouragement is always needed! Love the earrings, where did you get them?

  • @ymw08 Forever 21 a few years ago. Thank you .

  • I just did my big chop last month after 7 months of wearing Braids. I guess Im the odd ball b/c I never cared what ppl thought about me or the decision I made with my hair. My only hang up is how dry my hair looks. I HATED IT! I have recently found the "green house"effect works for moisture but not for shrinkage. Ill try banding tonight. But Im learning and loving it every step of the way. I cracked up when you said "u better work it". GREAT ADVICE!

  • YES! Confidence is a MUST. People think twice before they say something negative to you when you exude confidence and you carry yourself as though you're proud of yourself! Ladies with natural hair...be encouraged cuz you're just as beautiful as every other woman!

  • This video was just what I needed.. I've just got to grips with what works and what doesn't in my natural hair and I have begun to truly love it. I am into my second year of wearing my hair out natural.. yet still I come across people who persist in throwing out snide remarks and unnecessary comments.. I love that you have taken time to post this. Bless YOU!

the way you rock your hair and love the texture has inspired me!

    Thank You so much.

  • OMG!!!! rock the twa and ACCESSORIES ACCESSORIES AND MORE ACCESSORIES and with time it will be just a phase.

i cut all my hair off and every body though i had lost my mind, it was quit challenging then, but 3yrs later my natural hair is longer then all of the silly folks...

    smiles:shontaeale

    -Peace and much love

  • I needed this video.... i did big chop and i get alot of hate from alot of ppl.. bc i want to embrace my natural hair... THANK FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT foreal it helped!

  • @lasandradaniels YEESS me too! I get a lot of mixed messages, one white woman saw me with my bc and said BEAUTIFUL! A gay guy was just looking as if he was just waiting for me to ask him if he liked it...well he was waiting 4ever cos i aint ask! lol I got looks from my own but one black woman i work with seemed to really admire me..so just be true to urself...natural women stand out more than the Nikki Minaj's of the world

  • What a nice message!

  • crochet braids?WHAT IS THAT EXACTLY AND WHAT TYPE OF HAIR DO YOU USE?

  • @TONIAG03 hair was Freetress water wave bulk hair, and its installed like interlocks, but theyre much cuter lol

  • Im only 17 n this year I went natural...no perm. AND I LOVE IT! My mom doesn't but 2 be really honest, I feel soo good in my natural short afro. rockin it at my HS was scary at first though. I am still learnin 2 take care of it but I don't see myself permin my hair again. oh but some times I do wear a lacefront when i don't feel like doin my hair. Ima dark skin, afro rockin, plus size youngin women n love every inch of my body

  • Thanks for encouraging natural heads. I needed to hear that. I'm locking my hair, my locks are almost 8 months and I'm kinda frustrated with it cause it hasn't completely locked yet, but I'm not giving up, it requires patience. I'll "fake it til I make it" like you said, I love this!!! LOL

By the way, your earrings are beautiful and so is your make up. You're gorgeous, and have a very beautiful smile. Anyway, thanks for being so supportive. :)

  • Love this viideo. I am loving my twa. This is my 2nd week and should have done this years ago. Don't care who like or dislike it.......

  • I love it! So true. I struggled my first year of being natural. You have to love it despite of what everyone thinks.

  • I SOOOOO LOVE YOU RIGHT NOW...Kimmaytube is friend in your head and your a friend in mine. Like ol' lady in church wit her fan, I was fanning myself and sayin AMEN. BE HAPPY WIT YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES!! Cause folks will try you. They'll question your sexuality, call u a man, call u nature lover, ask if you got cancer, all kinds of crazy stuff and you just have to be fortified in yourself like strongest tree rooted in the ground. Let no tornado of stupidity uproot ya!!

  • your earnings are soo pretty!! are those on Fashion for FiFi's site?

  • @Jocelynsjourneys Forever 21

  • Love the video, I was feeling a little discouraged about my natural hair and was considering using a chemical. BUT I am going to keep going as I am at the really short afro stage where I can't do anything to it. I have 4b hair also.

  • lady u did the damn thang on this video..''FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT"!!! if you believe yo hair is the shit then everyone else will...

  • Great Vid!

  • I love this video!!!! I so went through a serious questioning when I bc'd a year ago. I had to really get into earings and make up to compensate for seeing my dad in the mirror LOL. I am so glad I bc'd and I feel like I have grown to really love me in an unexpected way because of it. Tell that sistah to stay strong and hang in there. It's hair...it WILL grow, be patient and have fun discovering who you are. I am so enjoying your vids! Thanks for the expert advice sis :)

  • girl, i needed to hear and see this video! thx

  • @sweetkrenda You are very welcome. I am hear for support. :o)

  • Your hair looks great.. I been natural for 5 years and have cut my locs about 8 months ago. So thank you for sharing your tips on Loose natural hair.

  • OMG where did u get them earrings? they r so cute. I with u on the If they don't like it thats them U be u and do u boo boo cuz at the end of the day its only going to be u and u alone.

  • @MsKiwi3000 earrings are from forever 21 . Can please everybody else, and I dont try. lol

  • Love, love this video. I was just making this statement to one of my friends around 2 months back. She made the comment that I have a lot confidents to wear my hair natural. I explain to her that I have days when my hair don't turn out like I like it too, but I am going to rock it like its the business. If you don't believe it then who will. People can sense when you lack confidents. Like you said,"FAKE IT TELL YOU MAKE IT.......100% agree with that statement.

  • BTW I also love your earrings.

  • @chatchickchat gee thanks, forever 21

  • i love ur hair!!

  • my first vid with you Sis and I love it! (I'm subbin) I cut all of mine off years ago and dealt with all of the backlash of that. It was tough at first but it did make me really learn to keep my head up no matter what. 10000 stars on this one. I agree with you Sis...fake it until you make it. Tell Urself that you are loved until it gets down in your soul!

  • @mpenny226 thank you very much . :o)

  • @mpenny226 OK! like Monique, give yourself some love and a big hug. I mean how do you expect someone to like sommething that you are hating. You got to love yourself.

    ~keep it real

  • Love it.

  • @onlygoddessonearth thank you

  • This video made my day. When you aremaking positive changes, They will always be people that want to pass judgement and discourage you. You're so right AFRICANEXPORT, in the end you just have to swat the hate away like flies and continue to shine.

  • Powerful!

  • Lol, I love this video. Great choice of words! =D

  • Really great advice!

  • Awesome advice!

  • Very good advice b/c it's what we think about ourselves that matters. When I first cut my hair it was looking crazy b/c I didn't know how to take care of natural hair. We all go through a phase of what do I do now? But I'm just starting to learn more and do more with my hair. It is all about being open to learning and accepting who you are. Thanks for the vid. Take care & God bless!

  • You Betta WORK!!! Lol!!!!

  • Thats some beautiful encouragement that you gave. U speak whats real. Thanks for the vid!

  • THAT'S what I'm talkin about!

  • your best vid yet, THANK YOU!

  • I did my BC in Oct. 2009 (almost 5 months natural). Just started twist /braid outs. Today I realized that I am ok with it regardless of how it comes out in the morning. It was not as defined today.. but I moisturized it, put on cute headband, lipstick, and earrings and me and my little momma went on with our plans I remember when I wouldn't go out at all-if my hair didn't look a certain way. Life is much simpler now! I hope for the best and accept the rest.

  • We have got to embrace the natural us. This is how God made us. this is how we are meant to be.

  • Thanks so much-just sent vid to my friend she is going thru the same thing now. You are on pt.

  • AfricanExport already gave some tur to the heart advice....you remind me of me because I don't know what the heezy i want to do with my hair but I know that I love the hek outta my hair no matter what other say. I love to use eco styler on my hair or giovanni leave in and thank god for such products. Try porducts...take the time out to make your hair beautiful so your comfortable. Be patient and pray. Thats all you gotta do. God Bless

  • @lit26 "true to the heart advice

  • You are a great source of encouragement. Thanks.

  • I recently BC'd too and this video just made me smile so hard! Thank you, your encouragement really helps.

  • Girl you know you are right on point! In the beginning no matter how busted my hair looked, and how frustrated I felt, I walked around like I was CONFIDENT! Its a hard thing to do, especially if you have to deal with ignorant comments. Thank goodness, by taking care of your hair, it gets better fast.

  • I bangz with this video! You are soo right about "faking it till you make it."

  • I KNOW THATS RIGHT !

  • Hey Lady!! All I have to say is LET ALL THE NATURAL SISTAHS SAY "AMEN". LOL.. You are so right.. This video not only encourage that youg lady, but for every lady in her natural journey.. Peace and blessings..

Im 38 and just started Loving the real Me, and I finally feel complete. Truly Complete.

  • SPEAK SISTAH, TELL THE TRUTH!!

  • YOU BETTA WORK...thank you soooo much, love this!!!

  • I completely agree with everything you said. I have bc'd several times & every time, ppl seem to think that their opinions mattered. I would let them know REAL quick that anything and everything I do is to please who? Just two..Myself and God. So their opinions do not concern me.

I really hope that a lot of people see this video and get the message. I have so many women come up to me and say that they wish they could cut their hair but their family will say something about it. SMH

  • you really make me want to rock my twa;) from the beginning i was afraid of peoples opinion..

  • I love those earrings u wearing!!! my mom is bald and the only person she said she was worried about was me.. I told her she looked great and had nothing to worry about.. She has been bald for a FEW years now and not looking back. She actually shaves her head when needed.

To the lady that this video is for= DO YOU and F what others gotta say.. They are probably MAD cause THEY dont have the balls to do what u have done.. Keep ur head up and keep it moving. Step high & proud knowing ur the bomb

  • exactly. Big up's to moms

  • ROCK WHAT CHA WORKIN" WIT!! That's right! And I wish I was working with your ear rings! Fierce!!!

  • You were right on... fake it til' u make it! Great vid!

  • I love this advice! You are right on time and you do keep it real:) Great Video!!
