When is the chip programmed to bomb? Like printers and their special chip that counts the use, these will have them too. Will it be a three year repurchase schedule?
What about those magic yellow dots that printers put on your printouts so that they can be tracked forensically? you know the ones that print yellow with YOUR ink cartridge? Now that's whack. I still have SD tvs at my house. Some people think I'm poor or a douche or whatnot but I knew with little research that better TVs were on the horizon than those LED pieces of crap. lamps burn out in a few years and they cost almost as much at the TV, FAIL.Seen it happen 3 times to friends
Making flat screens lighter and thinner is great but only to a certain point. Personally I wouldn't want it to be thin enough to where it breaks like a freakin' cracker.
@CreditDue52 me too. there are alot of negative comments regarding these tvs. I'm using the aquas quttron now but that oled technology sounds very attractive...
But can it deflect a Wii-mote without cracking or scratching the screen? At 16 pounds a toddler could easily push this thing over. You'd have to bolt it down or mount it on the wall for fear that your TV (which costs about a 3rd of a new compact car) would topple and break.
I highly doubt Samsung is going to rush off to make a better product because I demand it. That's part of the problem with the market: It tends to only make the products that are the most popular (because of profit), rather than the products that the individuals desire.
Of course but then one day someone says hey I am going to make a smartphone and then a revolution is born. Sometimes an individual defines an era. Not only are smartphones useful they are also extremely durable. Just ask my old lady, she dropped her Galaxy Nexus within 1 hour of purchase. I can't keep track of how my times it has since bounced off the pavement. It still works (got insurance just in case). My point is that, at some point, form must not supersede function.
You're comparing apples to oranges. We're not talking about cell phones. We're talking about television sets in your house. Durability wouldn't be a factor in televisions because you shouldn't be trying to carry around your television in your pocket.
And you missed my point: Manufactures are not going to make a product simply because a few people want a certain feature. They will make the product IF the masses demand it -- not the individual.
@joshdaugherty1111 .... and you can be assasinated by the government.... no trial, no jury. Just dead. They are shitting on our bill of rights and need to be stopped.
I'm soooo over technology. Every season the new "it thing" comes out n people rush like cows to grass to get them like it will reshape n change their life completely. These tech nerds really need to get a life. They're falling right into the hands of the profiteers of these technologies.
N the next season comes n they're old news already. Why bother spending so much? It's really not worth it. Oh well, spend your money on whatever....
@visceralguy I built a top of the line computer two years ago. It's still AWESOME. So I won't have to upgrade for years and can play all games on UlTRA HIGH. Sometimes it's worth buying the latest tech if it saves you money in the longrun because you didn't buy a shit processor and graphics card and make a turd sandwich computer that is obsolete after 6 months. For example I run 4.4 ghz and 2 graphics cards in SLI. Upgradeing is years away for me.I still use a 26IN LED monitor.
@andrewsheldonreeves Is the screen 3D? Is your screen really thin like this tv? If not, then u need to upgrade.
Besides, I'm not as tech savvy as you are. It's good that you are. Some people can build an awesome computer n some people can build n awesome car.
But I think your computer is probably obsolete simply because there r probably products out there that u can't buy yet that they're using which makes your: needng an upgrading....

There's a simple fix for that: Don't buy it if you have small or rowdy children. Anyone who buys this while having children deserves to be screwed.

Or one better, demand more durable products for your $5000. The sales figures will reveal all. Is that a pair of hairy balls around your neck?
