this sounds so beautiful, im a catholic considering converting merely for the beliefs i share with islam and not catholocism, however what i have heard of shria law i do not understand can somebody explain to me exactly what is involved with sharia law? i was considering visiting the only mosque on the island tomorrow but i dont think i fuly understand even after reading countless extracts on the internet, what do i have to do to convert?

I will give you some informations about Islam, to understand how the muslims are looking to the life.
Islam teached us that our creator Allah (God) create us as for a test. Allah created the world as place for this testin and gave us testing time from puberty till death. At the end of this testing (death), you will return to your creator for the high court
@vebgra You should be asking yourself "What rational reason is there to believe in god?" not going around seeking religious folk who will tell you how believing in their god will make you feel good (regardless of whether or not their god is real!). What reason do you have to fear hell? Do you really think you've been so wicked as to deserve being tortured FOREVER? Many religions will say you do, and those religions are fucked up ways of controlling people.
@vebgra Every religion will tell you that they are the "right way". Christians say they are right. Muslims say they are right. Shintoists say they are right. Egyptians pagans say they are right. Bottom line is, no one knows for sure. However, there's nothing wrong with finding the right religion FOR YOU. If you want to, you can be Muslim if you feel it is RIGHT. Just live life morally. As for fearing death and hell, don't worry about it. Every human being on the planet feels the same way.

@GrimmJaX islam gives you a new family, the Ummah. Find a Muslim community near to you and use them find the support you may need in this transition time. also, be on loving terms with your non-Musim famliy, and if you decide to tell them about your conversion, be very clear about what it means to be a Muslim, and how this doesnt change your relationship with them, and will only improve your behaviour towards them. May Allah give you the streght to follow this path.
@GrimmJaX Brother do not worry i went through the same thing but i was not Christian before. I was terrified of telling my family it took me 4 years to tell them! I realized though the longer i wait to tell them the worse it would be for me and them and when i did tell them Allah made it very easy for me, of course they were not happy but eventually they did accept it. I'm Jewish, but I must say this prayer reminds me why are the Arab people called the children of Ishmael. "Ishmael" means "the man whom God listens", and this prayer certainly bears witness that God does listen our Muslim brothers prayers. Shalom to Israel, and to our brother Ishmael.

That's why it is not found evident in many non-muslims countries to have sympathy for Islam. That's why many people want to make it explicit that it's possible (or necessary) for a non-muslim to show respect for muslims.

They're showing that a christian or white person i able to enjoy this, regardless of their race or religious belief. This prayer is absolutely beautiful! I know that islam is a very peaceful religion, but most people associate it with terrorism. I heard the adhan in the middle of the night in Sarajevo - all we could hear was the call to prayer and dogs barking across the city. I'm not a Muslim but it was an incredible experience and Islamic music is truly beautiful.

your instinct are leading u to the truth. i'll not talk to u about islam and try to convince u with it, but think about it, there must be someone who created all the universe, why you are here, how someone could be bad or evil and just walk away with it. and if there was no life and judgment after death and u know that this universe vanish one day (scientific fact) so whats the point of being here at the first place?

i recently bought a Quran translated in french to learn more about the ways of islam,because for me Islam is the one religion that makes the most sense in my head and heart. But i am from a conservative baptist christian family,and im afraid that they will shun or not accept me if i turn to the ways of the Quran,even thought in my heart Islam is the one true religion.....im afraid of bein cast one by my loved ones......what should i do ?

@GrimmJaX islam gives you a new family, the Ummah. Find a Muslim community near to you and use them find the support you may need in this transition time. also, be on loving terms with your non-Musim famliy, and if you decide to tell them about your conversion, be very clear about what it means to be a Muslim, and how this doesnt change your relationship with them, and will only improve your behaviour towards them. May Allah give you the streght to follow this path.

@GrimmJaX Brother do not worry i went through the same thing but i was not Christian before. I was terrified of telling my family it took me 4 years to tell them! I realized though the longer i wait to tell them the worse it would be for me and them and when i did tell them Allah made it very easy for me, of course they were not happy but eventually they did accept it. I'm Jewish, but I must say this prayer reminds me why are the Arab people called the children of Ishmael. "Ishmael" means "the man whom God listens", and this prayer certainly bears witness that God does listen our Muslim brothers prayers. Shalom to Israel, and to our brother Ishmael.

That's why it is not found evident in many non-muslims countries to have sympathy for Islam. That's why many people want to make it explicit that it's possible (or necessary) for a non-muslim to show respect for muslims.

They're showing that a christian or white person i able to enjoy this, regardless of their race or religious belief. This prayer is absolutely beautiful! I know that islam is a very peaceful religion, but most people associate it with terrorism. Terrorists are not necessarily muslim, look at Anders Brevik in norway he's christen and white, he committed the largest attack by one man of all time.

I heard the adhan in the middle of the night in Sarajevo - all we could hear was the call to prayer and dogs barking across the city. I'm not a Muslim but it was an incredible experience and Islamic music is truly beautiful.
